I am just glad I lived in a totally different world.
We can not even compare it.
Is this is progress, you can keep it.
Some changes are good, most things to me are not.

I am glad I was brought up without a T.V.
It was responsible for the start of a lot of the changes.

Maybe another:

In 1958 Johnny takes a cap gun to school to play cowboys and Indians. No issue~

Now Johnny's a felon for bringing a "weapon" to school.

Now Johnny's 3 months of senstivity training for saying the word Indian.

You know being a kid today is surely not like when we grew up.
I feel sorry for the kids today.
They learn very little in school.

Kids with a high school diploma would have to fill in an application and would ask me questions like; what is a surname?

As they say, schools are significantly underfunded because they have to pay salaries that are competitive with the private sector. However, in many rural Iowa communities they are the highest paid people in town. Also interesting that a full time teacher base is 917 1/2 hours per year.

In Canada the teachers invested their money and did very very well

They did here too, that is why IPERS is 43% funded. CDOs and MBSs were great investments. Oh, I forgot about the $389M in the hedge fund that went broke.
The best and the brightest run that puppy!
