lusciousmile: There was a time I prayed every single day and night, nowadays, when I need God, I just don't know how to talk to him. I am not angry at him, no, but I just don't know how to do it. I even get scared of writing this here.I am scared as hell, and don't know who to blame.
Lus....just talk with Him as you would a friend. It doesn't need to be scripted or structured. Sometimes He's the only one around for me to talk with when I have a problem.
1. Be specific and get the scriptures relevant to what you want. Preparation time. 2. Ask God for what you want. John 16:23-24. According to His Word. Then believe that you have received once you ask. 3. Maintain a positive attitude in the face of the enemy's assault. 4. Guard your mind. Cast down every thought that doesn't obey the Word of God. Fight thoughts of doubt with the Word. 5. Meditate the word of God. 6. Continually give thanks to God for what He is giving you. Make every prayer a statement of faith.
Things to Do After You Pray:
1. Pray in a different way. Remind God what it is that you asked for. 2. Remind God what it is that His Word says. Isaiah 43:25 3. Tell God what you expect. 4. Spend time thanking Him.
Thank you, Barren. I do not give him his time, so I am not able to see or listen to him anymore. When in need, I ask him why he isn't in my life, then I switch off. It's because my faith has become weak. When my family talks of what he has done, I simply nod. When asked that we pray, I find it a task. Something went seriously wrong. I have to let him in to see him work in my life.
I have read all you have said and I know where to start. I should start by recognising he is still there. He has not forgotten me.

Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites : for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen : for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Mat 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Mat 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

it has been said many times from what I read so far, but I have to agree and say the same, trust your heart in this matter, go somewere that you feel comfertible (sp) I would caution you aginst anyone that says they are the only true religon. I have had some bad experiences with religon, a church that I attended as a child, till I was older, for the most part ran my parrents life, deciding were and if we went to school, what we wore, were we spent our money, and even who our friends could be. my belief now is this and many will dissagree, you dont have to go to church to be a christian, you just have to believe that which is in the new testament. anyways let your heart lead the way and you decision will not be a bad one.

and heart4 lease. I agree he judges our heart, you can say one thing in prayer to Him, but He will know if that is truely what you believe...

God does not force anyone to listen. He always forgives and is always there for you.
Footprints in the Sand
One night a woman had a dream. She dreamed she was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from her life. For each scene she noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to her, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of her life flashed before her, she looked back at the footprints in the sand. She noticed that many times along the path of her life there was only one set of footprints. She also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in her life. This really bothered her and she questioned the LORD about it: "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The LORD replied: "My daughter, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you." written by Mary Stevenson

It used to be easy. I made him so many promises that I have broken. Perhaps it's similar to having a friend you betray, and can't find a way to get close to again. Things start going wrong, even when there's no reason they should.

BarrenPneuma: They also claim some divinity for John Smith. He was 3rd grade educated you see so the book his friends wrote and pawned off on him must have been granted through God? Right? Besides we have all of his golden tablets safely tucked away to prove this... damn they were right here? Alright who stole them?
Is that any different than following a religion full of plaguried myths?
Ten Commandments = The Forty Negative Confessions of Ma'at
Water into wine = Dionysus
Cure a blind man with spittle = Vespatian
Baptism by Water
The idea of Eternal Life
The Soul
It's all old news.
How about virgin births? There's Dozens of those.
Death and Resurrection? Too many to post.
What about the creation story?
The one where a god made man from mud?(God/Adam)
or
Where the gods made man from clay and the blood of a slain god?(Mami-Ea/first man)
or
Where the God made man from just clay? (Marduk/A-dom)
Interesting name, no? "A-Dom". Ineresting because A-Dom is the first man in the Sumerian Creation story. Abraham came from the Sumerian City of UR....what a coink-i-dink.
Maybe the Great Flood is origional...
God/Noah
Ea/Atrahasis
Gilgamesh?
Or one of the other dozen or so.
Christians have lost the message. The message is universal in most religions. ALL of them contributed to the beliefs of what we call Christianity.
I was thinking about this, the Mormon church teaches that Satin and Jesus were brothers, but I remember somewhere that Satin was an angel. If that is right how can they be brothers?

thankyou for posting this, many people have this concept that god is not there for them when they need him, this is the most poinent thing I have read in many years I read it a long time ago, not knowing what it ment, I thought it was a nice thing to read. some time later I experienced events in my life that proved once and for all that this poem IS THE TRUTH. rember that just because we pray for somthing we may not get it, god may not find it in our best interests at the time. he is not ignoring us he hears all.

as i said, ALL religions are false...christianity is'nt supposed to be a "religion" but, man has made a religion out of it...religions are mans feeble attempt to bridge a gap to God...which we can not....christianity is Gods bridge to us
