mylifewithu: Kitty there are many church's that would be helpful to you. Many are helpful even if you don't go there, in times of need that is.

As far as there teachings only you will know if it feels right. I gave up on church's and became just spiritual and so now it is something just between me and God.

They always refer to Jesus as god's son, Jesus when he was on earth even talked to God. If Jesus was God how could he talk to himself.

To the book not to be added, I thought it was only talking about the book of revelations, as the Bible is made up of different books put together.

I guess what bothers me the most is that they say if you do not belong to the Mormon church you will not be able to get to the highest kingdom, and live with God himself but end up on one of the other levels which you can never advance.

Kitty:

The most important thing to remember is that the church is not any physical building. It is the body of Christians who adhere to Christ.

Mat 12:6 But I say unto you, That in this place is greater than the temple.

Mat 21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

Mat 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

1Cr 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1Cr 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which ye are.

The Word of God is the food of the church. When you have any difficulty understanding the Word you simply pray for intercession by the Holy Spirit. When you read the Bible and it does not make sense or its meaning is obscured it is because you are out of touch with the Holy Spirit. Just take a few moments and reconnect. Reading the Bible without the Holy Spirit is like a Chinese person reading an Aramaic manuscript. Useless.
The purpose of any physical church on earth is one purpose alone. Fellowship.

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
Matthew 7:7-11
“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”
Luke 11:9-13
“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 18:19
“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”
Matthew 21:22
“But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.”
John 11:22
“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”
John 14:13-14
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
John 15:16
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
John 15:7
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
James 1:5-8

“And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.”
I John 3:22-23
“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
I John 5:14-15

What does the Word tell you about this?
If they are trying to contradict the Word of God from the Bible then are they really Christians?
The Word is of the trinity. God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of sound mind.”
II Timothy 1:7
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth not is made perfect in love.”
I John 4:18

Their words make you feel fear. Therefore they are not of God.

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
I John 4:7-8

Everyone that Loves God is born of God. Not just those in any specific church.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
II Chronicles 7:14

“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
Acts 2:39

The promise is to all.

“Therefore it is of faith, that it might be sure to all thy seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,”
Romans 4:16
“That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
Galatians 3:14
“And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Galatians 3:29

Faith is the only answer. Faith leads to Hope and both together lead to God. God is Love and the path therefore is quite clear.

God Bless

What is turning me off about the church is their belief that Jesus is the God of this world and that he is the one who populated it, and be the savior of this world.

That the heavenly father was the savior of another world and taught Jesus what he needed to do.

That we are able to be a savior ourselves of a world and populate it with having spirit children.

I do not like the fact that the temple is not allowed to be talked about outside of its doors, that it is too sacred to talk about even with your own family once you leave there.

That Jesus and the heavenly father live on another planet.

kitty01: My daughter wanted to go back to the Mormon Church as we went there when she was a child. We have not gone for 6 years, but the missionaries came by the house and now we are taking the lessons again. They say they are the only true church on the face of the earth as they only hold all the priesthood blessings.

They do believe in Jesus and that he is our salvation. Is that enough or do they really lead us astray.

I need to know seriously what people think why they are not the true church as I have to make a decision if I really want to go back.

Series answers only please.

The Book of Mormon says that those with dark skin are cursed by god. If they repent, their skin will turn "White and Pure" like the angels.

That should be enough to make for a good conclusion.

The traveling man is Christ and the servants are us. If he gives us something of value (the Word) and we refuse to share it we are failing His teaching. To withold his word or bury it in a secret place (the Mormon temple) is wrong. Our tithe on earth is not monetary but rather the sharing of the Word.
It is expected of us to do this.

Isaiah 66:1 The heaven is My throne/And the earth is My footstool/Where could you build a house for Me,/What place could (possibly) serve as My abode?

1Ki 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

2Ch 6:18 But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!

Act 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Act 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
Act 7:49 Heaven my throne, and earth my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what the place of my rest?
Act 7:50 Hath not my hand made all these things?
