Even as an adult. Watched reruns way back in 1982 when I "retired" while the Mrs still worked. No kids and it was great for a short time. She would leave for work at 8am, I would get out of bed at 9am and do housework (okay, long breakfast then do some things around the house) until noon when I would watch the Rockford Files while having lunch. Mrs would come home for lunch and watched part of the show - yes, I did make her lunch. Then it was yardwork until 3pm and off to walk to the pub with the Mrs picking me up on her way home from work.

Watched the Maverick movie not so long ago and seeing JG again reminded of the good times I had early in my life.

my X wife wanted me to be a house husband , neutered as well . Don't think she had me going to the pub in-mind though .

At that time I had a very enlightened Mrs. We didn't have children, were a bit iffy about having any at that time (it was the 70s!). And she didn't mind me going to the pub as I usually won enough at poker (pre-machines) to not cost us.

Hitting the spot where "old-timers" hasn't kicked in (yet). Back around 1970 it cost 22 cents a schooner (could have been less). In 1974 it was costing 30 cents per schooner but hit a record high of 33 cents per schooner in 1975. I think it was around 50 cents by 1982.
