Katla (Icelandic Volcano)

magnificent with it’s awesome power
natures impressive volcanic tower
destroying live with lethal fumes
flora and fauna the ash consumes
molten rock will bombard the land
skies are filled with deadly sand

youngest island in the world
grown so quickly as nature unfurled
gate way to hell at Hekla’s feet
and sister Katla prepares to greet
the youngest sibling stays close by
and caused disruption in the sky

the goddess of the earth will wake
of land and sea her hands will take
there's beauty in her grand display
a majestic life, then soon decay
so to the kettle as you reach your time
I pray you wait a little more time.

About this poem:
Kettle - English translation of Katla
Hekla was descibed by Jules Verneis as the gateway to hell
The volcano at Eyjafjallajökull is the younger sibling and often precedes an eruption of Katla

Katla erupts every 40-80 years, it's last eruption was in 1918. It usually erupts 6 to 18 months after the volcano at Eyjafjallajökull. You do the math.

Superb poem, time to worry I think, is if and when Yellowstone gets angry.

If Yellowstone blows I don't think anyone will have time to worry.
