Tonight

The moon is slowly rising high
In the deep black velvet sky
Between the V of two stately trees
Its glorious Lunar light beckons me...

Crickets are chirping their nightly lullaby
Luring flickering fireflies to sleep
A beautiful evening such as this
Deserves to be a special memory to keep...

About this poem:

I went to take the dogs out before bed.. I live very rural.. and the sights and sounds were amazing..I cant even try to explain what a glorious night it is.

You could be speaking of my back yard..too....very rural...funny how my cell phone has a cricket chirp for a ring tone.....thinking about changing it for the time being.....haha....man are those crickets big this year.... :))
