When fear taps on your shoulder, man- don't turn around, because it can and will get straight into your heart to take you for a ride. The part it's mostly interested in (your will) it wants to grab and squeeze and chill- to stop you in your tracks, my friend, and while you're standing at the bend unable for to move aside your fear will take you for a ride to places full of ghosts and such were it can haunt you and do much to sap away your soul and reap what you have planted, while the heap it leaves you in is worthless. Man- just leave the bugger while you can...
Yeah- it's one of those things which can take over faster than we can look... And I found that fear can attract trouble.

Interesting and nice write Andrew. I reckon fears are needed. We can't allow them to stop us, but we should listen to them, because some times they are just a warning. Like everything else, "balance" is the Master key. Thank you for sharing this

Thanks for the comment! You are right, of course; the trick is not to allow fear to take over. But it has an important function, just as pain indicates that there is an injury: Fear is meant to protect- but there is nothing to protect us from the protector if he takes the driver's seat...
But that would leave you with another problem: You'd be going nowhere... Fast!
Good to see you again- long time no read...

so true, fear makes the heart beat faster, do you fly or stand your ground.

Nice read! But fear can eat you alive only if you let it.
Fear is like fire, when fire is trapped in side with no oxygen its a slow burn, open a door and the back draft will let in the oxygen and everything will burn nothing left but memories.dont let fear keep you from trying to reach for something more! I have been there done that.

Very true. It's supposed to be like a smoke-detector... But it should never be allowed to short-circuit and start a fire!
