Bleak without my freedom Choice I was given none Out of fear you trod away Resigned from it all Submission to defeat A call you obliged to At the expense of my future In the hands of bigots terror clad robbers An offering of my guts and Spilled my lifeless body In a cup of sand covered with blood.
But, Over my dead body will I lose sight of my children's future.
We have as much right to be who we are and I will fight till my last breath is charged protecting that right, wouldn't you?

About this poem:
In honor of a world we once knew which will disappear because of our indifference and nonchalance.
It's easier to accept defeat especially for those who are weak.
It is a scary world out there. Coming from New York State - one of the sites of 9/11 - I'm not surprised at the things that are happening - they feel it is justified. We feel what we have done is justified. But none of it is justified in God's eyes. He is the one each individual will have to justify their actions. to.
My friend, your very well though if response inspired me to create thulist lines.
Your perspective as remotely considered as my choice leads me to not overlook our children's future. Abdication of that responsibility sidelined by our contempt if the greedy "justifies" our division. They feed our conscience as guilt driven if only for the overkill.
But adamant thinking only fuels their hidden agenda, a tool that only defeats our fight for freedom.
As you said Lindsy unity is the key.Hope is still there and many know what it means to be United States. Just saw the Texas news, we were hit close here at Orlando....months ago.Admire your words, we won't be on our knees ...Thanks for the write.SM

Wonderful poem Lindsy. It says what alot of us feel.
Love it looks like it. I don't want to be negative but with our global relationship amongst the rest of the G7 is volatile.
It looks like the world is in the grip of annihilation.

I'm afraid i agree with your view of the future- unless we remember and act on George Orwell's final warning to us 'it is up to you...don't let it happen'

Another sublime testament of your love and
caring for a world shot through and through with staggering inhumanity.

I truly appreciate your concerns.
Thanks, also for the mail.
Weird because I was just in Paris in October 2015 and the attack happened right after that, too.
