[Untitled - again]

drenched in sadness the clouds are crying
wrapping the skies in a sheet dark and dull
cracks in the land's breaking rocky skull
swallowing waves leaving them dying

far out a tower, a lonely beacon
a lighthouse in darkness missing its light
mist closing in with its fist clenched tight
the fear to lose bearing my vigour will weaken

lightheaded hope for a gleam down the breakwater
a narrow path stretching from the beach
leading to the tower so near yet hard to reach
the razor-sharp shore foretelling manslaughter

This poem really pulled me in. Feeling a helplessness looking for guidance and not finding it, knowing that help is needed to survive. Thanks for sharing.

Well, it's an older one and that's exactly how I felt when I wrote it.
