For Ruairi

Love leaves us all so tattered,
what is there more to do,
than to cherish every shattered tear,
and make a shrine each bruise?
Those wee gold scars only make you shine
in the instant you so choose
to call them "just"
and "tribute fair"
to the Grail
filled with your Truth.

Thank you , Jazzy. I find my writing style is a little "cerebral" for the tastes of most folks who fancy poetry. The poem I posted here that seems to have elicited the most appreciation ("Crystal Blue Regard") is chockablock with metaphor and imagery and, although I view all of reality as metaphor (and Life as a continuous streaming revelation) I have trained a lot of metaphor out of my speach/writing in an effort to facilitate clarity as I have done a lot of technical and report writing in my life. I am presently making a conscious effort to bring more metaphor back into my expressiveness. I thank Rory himself for the best metaphors in this little piece.
