With her head in hand she awakens to another day of emptiness.. She is like her porcelain dolls she keeps on her window sill, with a fixed expression and colorfully painted cheeks and clothes.. Time and the painfull years had glossed over the yearnings of her little girls heart, and the woman she'd become had left her eyes stained in hopeless tears In early sunlight she'd pick up a porcelain doll and imagine a lost happiness She'd look to the heavens and whisper her timeless prayer, 'when shall it be me when shall my turn come?' But cruel years had turned her heart into bitter stone and her dolls seemed to mock the beauty of her soul. Then one night she dreamed a dreams dream Her lover spoke to her in a souls song.. He said, 'Oh, my beloved child, I would touch the apple of your soul and fall on your lonely heart as the spring rains carress a thirsty field I would clothe your neck with rainbows of love such as the world has never seen.. And my love, when time has breathed its last..I will lay my head upon your naked legs and with bleeding roses in my right hand we shall walk through heavens gate..
Which means: my knight is coming, when - I don't know, I just hope that He is not coming right now and will give me some more time to roam cause life is so amazingly wonderful, every minute of it is a gift, every breath - happy chance, even when watching it from the painted glass of a window! This was quite a tribute, dear friend, and I thank you for your precious time spent on it. There may be tens of thousands of miles between where we live, but we travel them with so much ease and grace, don't you agree?! I remember traveling in space with you, that old hag trailing behind (how is she, by the way?!), so earth distances are just nothing in comparison. My good wishes and even more in the link below
Even as life is at its most inanimate, unfeeling state; the sheer humanity you express in this poem marvels such pure poetic license which brings to life, such humanity and is so wonderfully shared and expressed here. Very Touching!!

Ty Yank.. A powerful and very thoughtful comment you give here friend. I usually write in a free flowing style. If I first wrote down my thoughts I'd probably lose the raw emotion.

Ty fjames.. You are more than worthy my friend as your poems astonishingly testify. Sometimes we hit the right words, sometimes not..but the creative thing is always enriching. But it takes something real or someone for real to inspire and Marikia has been a great encourager behind the scenes for me. I hope this tribute does some justice for this incrediable woman. There are many more maidens on this corner whose tribute is in the making.. Cafe

Another beautiful write! I too can see so much of myself in this poem as I still have my porcelain like dolls. Ever since I was a little girl - I have always loved Fairy Tales and the knight/prince coming to my rescue. I pray he doesn't arrive just before I die. Although - I know Jesus is really my true Prince for eternity in the land of Rainbows. Thanks Cafe for bringing this one back to light.
