Loving your Children
Waiting for those sweet faces that one can kiss,
to hold them close and to let them know your there,
telling them no matter where they are they will be surely missed,
whispering sweet nothings, tell them that you really care,
Tenderly touching their cheeks, kissing that brow,
smiling widely when you see them smile back at you,
bathing their cuts and scratches, dont make it a row,
telling them that bedtime story now its time for sleep too,
You look and watch them slowly grow into young men,
trying very hard not to scold when mistakes are made,
those first years are always the best, you look back then,
remembering those antics and pranks, doing favours for trade,
I remember those toy fights they used to like,
both attacking at once from different direction.
I also remember the days they each got their own bike,
its nice to remind yourself of your love and affection,
Time passes us all and we soon grow old,
now they have their own children to keep in memory too,
they no longer listen to you when told,
memories of my love for both of you.

Really loved reading your wonderful poem
At least you have your memories, and nobody can take them from you.
Thank you for sharing

Thank you for sharing your memories - stirred my memories too!
and you have your own memories too that have become refreshed
so it is good to sit back and just let the mind wander to those
childhood days your children had.
