Foolish Heart

A foolish heart that gave its soul,
to a woman without real feeling,
was left all alone to console,
could never understand the double dealing,

Why say to one that you love them dearly,
building their hopes and dreams,
knowing deep in your mind quite clearly,
this was maybe another one of your schemes,

Its so hard to comprehend the reasons why,
you shared my home, you shared my bed,
how easily you left this love to die,
to walk away without another word unsaid,

This foolish heart now so broken,
mind and feelings castrated in fear,
finding it so hard to accept another lovers token,
even scared to shed yet another tear,

Words and emotions can no longer be undone,
over three months and not so much as a word,
finding a new love is no longer fun,
its plain for all to see that you never ever cared.

About this poem:
Even though it has now long gone the never knowing still haunts your mind as to why? Also deep within you it is difficult to regain that trust for someone new.

Yes Stedan, the last stanza offers a little consolation that nothing done can be redone or undone. so move on. of course,

Great piece of painful experience Stedan.
