Life is not a poem that makes a perfect rhyme Our heart is ever a mystery that puzzles our natural mind We seek meaning from without from a thousand shifting winds Enlightened by our virtues and captive to our sins Shot through and through with confusion as each war can testify It's the reason we dread the morning and why the starving child does cry O, we hope some genius comes along or some philosopher with special wit With them we'll put our trust when at their feet we'll sit But as this old world keeps on turning We pray someone reviews our case It's then that still small voice whispers, 'It's all a test of faith.'
Jim, more than lovely thank you for your beautiful sharing

Fantastic(as always, whatever the subject)
We are so quick to put someone on a pedestal who is just as human as the rest of us - sure, we can learn alot from others... but no one is perfect & no one is correct all the time - tho you seem to hit the nail on the head quite often
Well, I won't put you on a pedestal, but you're a great poet & imo pretty wise, too. Cat
p.s.You have some more poems with comments waiting for replies...

Ty benidorm.. Your comment is more than fine friend. Thanks bro.
Life can certainly test your faith, that's for sure. I have always enjoyed the comedians as they aren't interested in judging us, just making us laugh. The current ones I watch on tv are Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman who is retiring in 2015, John Stewart, and Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Hi, cafetwo2010, Life is not a poem that makes a perfect rhyme. Nevertheless, we strive to give to and get the most from it while we have the time. Not only do I love waking up in the morning, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your poem. Thanks for sharing.
Upon these days I lost another dear friend. One of a kind. I scrolled through Cafe's poems and enjoyed reading this one. Missing Cafe dearly on this poetry corner. One more year of his passing but alive with his beloved poems. RIP my friend.
Thank you South Miami - yes Cafe Jim passed away 2 years ago in September. Lest we forget - he was a very influential force in this little corner of the world.

Great wisdom, and understanding of human nature here, all our beauty, flaws, and paradox. Here your words live on! I hope you can see us from the next galaxy, or somewhere. RIP, great online poet.

Left behind reminiscent in his work
For us to admire ,take comfort
And remembrance of a kindred soul
God blessed and in our hearts
Never forgotten ,always loved
