The smell of sweet pine fills the warm air The lack of meaning cause you're not here No one to share this isolation and peace Just me myself and my inner beast
I'm so alone maybe I'll stay for awhile I think of you and you're beautiful smile The sound of birds crickets and bees The wind is talking it travels through the trees
Off in the distance big white puffy clouds Then a crack and a flash boy is that thunder loud Nature puts on its most exciting show The air becomes cool the water rushing down below
I feel so refreshed energized and renewed Its like putting on new socks and brand new shoes I sit here in silence listening to everything drip The roaring sound of a brook I think I'll take a sip
Clouds break apart in the late afternoon sun I see a rainbow appear a pot of golden fun My feet start to ache as I trot along this trail Horseflies and mosquitoes there hot on my tail
The journey continues as I approach the lake Two loons are laughing at me give me a break! The evening draws near I'm so tired and wet Time to go home dry clothes would feel good I bet
The cool quiet air engulfs you're body all over The evening dew settles on every four leaf clover Another display of mother nature doing her best She will constantly remind you that you're only a guest
I will heed her warning follow all her rules Its time for you to go she says don't be a silly fool Come back and visit me anytime you like You can get out much earlier if you bring you're bike!

About this poem:
a summer poem i wrote while kayaking on a peaceful pond...let you're imagination go wild...and you never know what you can think of!
