On any given day you Might be touched.. I stir my own ink in A rusty old pan A cocktail of ancient Lore, mixed with the Delusions of modernity As I stir I tease the eternal Verities to the surface of This visionary stew I fill my quill with this Anomalous mixture I roll out the parchment That shall receive the Indictments I inscribe Upon it I gather my thoughts From the dungheap of fools And from the wisdom of Spirits held captive And although my audience May slumber between the Pages of time The clockwork of their Dreams ever tick to The final hour On any given day We shall awaken
Hi, cafetwo2010, I stir my own ink in A rusty old pan...I fill my quill with this Anomalous mixture I roll out the parchment... And, we thank you, for doing so, to The final hour...

I do relate with your words, I write from random thoughts
or a joke I heard, even from a TV commercial.

Love the poem, and love the process you describe... and the randomness- well, I'm extremely random if I'm not careful

You're versatile in your poetry, you think outside the box (not the shipping box by the way) and a very deep thinker. Thank you for the pleasure of your thoughts. Loved this Cafe.

Poet#1.. Thank you friend. I'm always trying to find more creative ways of expression. But it's something that happens on its own as it were. Cafe
"Versatile" is a very good and accurate word to describe Jim's writing style M.M....there are often several very clever and humor-based poems posted in succession, only to be followed by something remarkably serious and with intense content that pulls the reader in.

randomness is your middle Name and so is gallant and cheekiniess and .....well the list goes on

candykid.. My humorous poems is my way of saying I don't take myself to seriously so most of them are me laughing at me. My serious poems are born of decades of study(especially spiritual), and much self reflection. I do appreciate immensely your contemplation of some inherant methodology in my writings. Your kind of comment along with Poet#1 and many others inspire me to explore ever deeper this thing called poetry. Cafe

Kick.. The drummer boy returns!. Well.. What could I say to something like that?. Glad you could join the band? So happy you could stop in. You're friendship has become as vintage wine. Welcome to the drive-through poetry section. Would you like fries with that sir? Cafe
I loved the ending... giving hope of awakening after the final hour... This final cord brought me back to life for I fell in trance while reading. The ingredients you use for cooking your verse, the manner in which you collect thoughts, carry your point, and make audience listen is truly remarkable. Thank you, dear poet, for drawing my attention to this particular poem - it was worth it!
Oh no, Cafe, please don't let the maidens alone, we are more than happy to attend. Thanks for the tip on the dress code - I seem to get forgetful from time to time. Kindest regards, our Knight of Loving Countenance!
