On the mountain he stood the winter ice winds his only moving companion
his hair sweeping across his face like dark veins mapping their course his eyes dark and deep, like black opals set deep within in its caves
they mirror the dark of night
his curved sensuous lips now resting with no smile his defined face empty of emotion raising his head he looks across the landscape all thoughts just a kaleidoscope
but a safe place to escape
devouring his mind for reasons why tears flowing heart crying soul empty
Knowing soon he thought
"there shall be no turning back as all was tried"
"my beautiful beautiful sweet love"
"I say goodbye"

About this poem:
I had a dear friends who parted with his lady friend. he got through it (and so did she) and he always showed a happy face whilst going through the parting, looking back this what I saw though his eyes.that many did not....
Most all hear see the pain a women goes though in times of heartache,(we tend to share so much when around friends) and on rare occasions we glimpse and see what real pain also the man, can go though...
Hi, sophiasummer, his curved sensuous lips now resting with no smile is such a subtle reminder of what lies underneath as hair sweeping across his face like dark veins mapping their course portrays the journey. Thank you for sharing.
