Lord,
I come to You thirsty for Your Mercy and Grace,
Tormented and humbled, naked and ashamed.
Just a man stripped of his armor and all of his pride,
But I always knew I stood as a child in Your eyes.
I will not ask for Your forgiveness ever again,
For I know that He has already died for my sins.
I took You for granted and sought to do this on my own,
But Lord I now see I can't do this on alone.
The more my directions led me further away from Your light,
The more I felt empty from this raging sea thats inside.
I am asking for shelter and peace to make the seas calm,
My punishments well deservered, but I know that it had to be done.
Humility before Honor brings me back to that place,
The beginning of Hope to see Your perfect face.
Please give me my wings for just a moment of flight,
Im no longer the weak one whose spirit cowards from fight.
Lead my footsteps to Wisdom, but let my heart become free,
Forever Your son and like Him I will be.

I simply loved this poem,it shows how you were totally willing to do away with self..and put on the full armor of God...Humble thy self in the site of the lord and he shall lift you up on high..These are the type of prayers that god is anxious to answer. At its best, faith gives us strength to become our best and to make the world a better place for our having been born into it. Thank you for sharing.
Ken,
I am asking for shelter and peace to make the seas calm,
As you asked, you shall receive
as from hence you wrote, deep from your heart
Your write is so gently, true within you
You already have your wings

Nice write Jesse.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful and heartfelt piece. I am touched, and found a longing in my spirit to pray for you. I believe that when we go to God with such honesty and the intent of just being heard by Him, that He knows "we got it" and the lesson is learned.
Bless you!
it has been an honor to read your incredibly touching words in this piece .
There are none of us perfect , that's for sure ... and there are time when we must be humble , contrite and ask forgiveness from god and also from those in our daily lives.
Warm regards as always -F
