The Orpheus days

we gathered us up,
it was the 80's
some sorted some not

Booked the Whaitpu lodge
an Easter weekend came upon

from the music world we
took a rest

oh the sorting!
we drove
unsorted, again..

pure love
amongst us all
around winding roads we traveled
the raw roads awaiting our coming

Ready to leap to us rambling along
all was cool
our journey done

arriving, piling out of the Valiant
we had arrived

so cool back then
12 midnight no power

remember no power
that's okay

sorted the hello's out
inviting all

guitars and of course
the battery powered turntable
found upon someones loft!
sweet little speakers rising to the occasion

Mick Jagger, Alice Durban, Beatles, the Temptations, Roy orbison many more all on 45s
that was cool before our time
but we had just come upon the turntable and a box of 45s

great time to sing

lamp lights and candles glowing
pass me that all is rising
wandering out to the beach

wickedly wild
woohoo

we raced to the light house and
spookly we climbed,
on the tip of the lighthouse
we swung our legs over
an watched all the sea held
where no one would dare

the rushing sea the darkness of just being

such fun and daring

cant remember climbing down,
but hey im still here

back to the lodge to drink more good wine
and while away our cares
Crackling sounds of the portable playing

its dark
who wants to play tennis
on this hob nailed court
that we loved so much

to bed we all went
what ever the time

See you in the morning
for another round

we both careered into the wildness
in this little caravan

then proceeded to make it,
there
then suddenly it lost it footing
and fell over
Oh blimey!

hard out on love!

Such is little pockets of time

of summer love
in the time way back.

What a sensational and fun write, Sophia. You set the scene, scenery and players with extraordinary skill here.
