The Final Act Part 2

He glances at the table
That's waiting along with
His portable stage, to
Be pushed in front of the camera.
Uncle Miltie, finishing
Up a joke that's reminiscent
Of something he told years ago,
Delivers the punch line.
The studio audience howls
With laughter; who knows how
Many people in homes, in front
Of television stores or sitting
In bars, are laughing as hard.
Countless people, soon to be
HIS audience!

He smiles, there's no hard feelings,
Milt came to him, personally to
Ask that he be on his show.
That meant something!
He told Milton it would not
Be the same; trying to argue
His way out, instead off saying no.

Uncle Miltie, standing in
Front of the camera, introduces
The Men from Texaco; he'll be on
After the Men who wear the
Big Bright Texaco Star, advertising
Gas stations, and all the
Eminites that came with
Filling 'er up.

Stage hands start pushing
The platform with the fourteen
Full length poles and it's
Fifteenth short one.
He pushes the table himself.
Protecting the treasure that
Lays on it; the plates.

Fifteen plates of the
Finest Austrian crystal,
These were to be his retirement
Bon voyage to Vaudeville.
While on a London tour,
Burns and Allen, who were
Married, persuaded
Him to take in the sights,
Along with Jack Benny and
His young wife named Mary.
He was single, so he asked a
Londoner chorous girl to
Act as tour guide.
