"Untethered"

This strangle hold

This stretch of time

gasping violently
in his mind

Sucking in the airs of life
gripping on to his vision

With gritted teeth
he allowed his body to ride

his mission to only ever be
so gently by her side

They searched with fever
to rein this dark horse

"How dare he leave us

we not know not this course"!

A fleeting moment
rose through his limbs

"I always did care"
oh god!

for all their sins

Searching lanterns
swayed upon the darkened figures

And then he was gone......

No trace or imprint
lay across the sand

gathering all strength
he hauled himself to land

With reins held so tight
he looked upon his beauty
and pulled with all his might

Then within breath her eyes did see
"More riding for my master, for her,
it must just be"

Through broken cobbled roads
and sliding hooves
as closeness drew near

Would my love within my soul
let me weave away her fear

Then all lay silent
as the forest drew them in

Now silent hooves at halt
trying to push past the din

With heaving heart
nostrils flaring
darting eyes helplessly staring

With an ear of knowing
she carried him safely
always with love that was tenderly flowing

Raising his weary head
he twitched to the scent of her

And alive he became
knowing love that stirred

With out stretched arms
he pulled her onto his mount

Steaming locked eyes together
a perfect frame

her endless love

He finally came

Sophia: I too agree w Rob, probably the finest of your many insightful poems. You are not just the master of your fate, you're the master of vivid visions.

the greatest wonder i love with writing poetry, is you can always write upon the write, and then people view from their own deep outlook, its just fantastic..
