Rain

Grey sullen
face of the sky—
from above there’s
an angry barking of
a dog;
pink sheets are
dashing in and out
as fierce shades of
nature’s lust;
arrows of an
unknown God
are pouring the earth;
the earth is wet
as a sacred whisper,
voices in it are drenched
as poems of metaphysics;
the rain has become soft
now, singing a melodious
beatitude.

Winter's Silent Beauty

Alone I sit
staring at the cold grey sky
All around
winter's handiwork
so silent
so beautiful
fills the land

Drifting lazily upwards
pillars of smoke
rise ghost-like
from the chimneys
On the ground below
the freshly fallen snow
so quiet, so fragile
instils deep peace
within my soul

Standing alone in the distance
a church steeple
points majestically towards the sky
in silent testimony
of its God

Nothing stirs -
the sparrows have gone to bed
this cold winter's evening
dreaming pleasant dreams
of tomorrow's spring
when new life will take form
in Nature's world
or perhaps they dream
of yesterday's summer
when they flitted happily
from tree to tree
dancing in the sunshine
so happy to be alive
and free

Yet dream on
my little friends
cold winter must reign
a little while longer
still blessing the earth
with her deep silent beauty
--- as now the snow begins to fall
once more

Snow

Snow

White achromatic clad on the ground
Comes the sharp falling oak leaves
Loosed by a fierce changing wind
Tossed like many spinning blades
A rip saw dancing end over end
Many rotating teeth all zig-zagging
Bouncing airborne and back again
Flipping left to right twisting right to left
Tumbling tossing twirling slicing
Touching cutting tearing to shreds
Every inch of an once perfect surface

About this poem:
I am often marveled by the patterns left in the snow by the wind blown oak leaves.

Dawn

Dawn opened
Her colored veils—
The sun is echoing
A dream.
The sky is a poetic
Metaphor;clouds
Are melodious lakes—
There, a crater
Is opening—
Lava is pouring crimson—
Bards are gliding
Gently as
Aesthetic sculptures—
I am a poet at heart,
I am a bard of lyric’s
Soul.

LIFE'S CYCLE....

Fresh sweet smell of morning, before the heat of day
Coolness holds you captive, as light filters from grey
Whether rain or bright sunshine, we wait time to unfurl
Petals hide from night's dark, still clustered and curled

Grass turning brown, receives a much needed soak
Moisture glistens, sleeping shrubs the rainfall woke
Sky of silver grey, as heavy patters hit the ground
Silence is shattered, by constant musical sounds

Nature stirs regrowth, new health brings alive
Struggle in heavy sunshine, plants reach-rise
Throughout summer, colours gradually turn
Autumn chill wins, and shades tend to burn

Oranges-gold, mix with greens and browns
Wind stirring leaves, make a rustle sound
The morning freshness, no longer sweet
Slate grey replaces silver, as winter creeps

Dusk

Dusk
Dusk’s a floating
Opera …
Orange hues
Are soaked petals
And linger as a
Painter scattering
A hazy abstract…
Time’s a music
Of mediation…
I am fond of
Nature …
It’s a metaphor
Of solitude…
My lover for her
Awakens like a dove…
Would have loved
An evening with her…
Love echoes the
Evening as a poem …

Dusk

Evening sky—
Stained glass—
Like a pale dream—
Poetry waltzes
On wings as
Ballet dancers—
Sky opened to me
Like a body of a woman—
My thoughts are
Veiled with the
Colors of the sky—
I dream of Bali—
I dream of her love—
Want to be nourished—
Clouds part as a guitar—
There now, a fierce
Dragon is spitting fire—
The sky a song of music
To me now.

Dawn

They sky,
A delicious poem
Of colors …
Art’s a spread carpet…
Chirp chirp, tweet, tweet
Goes the bards chorusing…
Morn’s fonts glisten
The sky as aesthetic
Abstracts…
Feelings now
Are a fruit of joy…
She woke me
Up with sweet words
On Skype …
Morn caresses the soul
As a beatitude of music …
A poet tunes to
The music of morn ….
Writing its lullaby
As poetic verses…

Dusk

The sky’s lit oranges …
Birds float in the sky
As a romantic poem…
Clouds are a jazz
Of Abstract sculpture …
The aroma of dusk
Lingers as colorful light…
Sweet breeze kisses
My cheeks like
Buddha in mediation…
The sky is breaking
Into streams, valleys
And hills…
I am floating in
A dream ….
My eyes melt with
Joy ….
I am sedated in art…
Sunset, an ode
To a joyful music…
Lyrics of the sky
Live in the textures of
Love …..

Moon

White ball radiant
With mysteries
Of mystic space…
A memory of love
Emanates from her
Bosom…
She scatters light
Amongst shadows
Pale shadows glistening…
She embraces the
Dark of the sky
As light’s séance
Of a pulchritude …
There’s music on
Her belly …
Veins of eclectic jazz,
I begin my dark ritual
Witches dance in my head
Like Ghosts from
A sunken grave…
A petal on wings
Strays across the lonely
Sky…
She echoes dreams
From a distant past…
Ancestors awake
From graves and
Pour blessings of mirth…
Clouds glisten
With the nectar of light …
Light falls on trees
And fall in pathos of
Solitude ….
I am fading
Into a dream….
A sweet lullaby
Puts me to sleep.
