EVENINGS PLEDGE....

As pink blush, shoots the sky
Creeping through, low to high
Turning the day, towards night
Coating brightness, dimming light

On distant horizon, change occurs
Aware of twilight, the eyes lured
From life below, to changing sky
Mesmerizing colour, a day dies

Sensing vacuum, spiritual peace
Expecting rapid, light decrease
Before street lights, smolder-glow
Dark corners hide, no secrets show

Life in hiding, now dark comes
Daytime is again, on the run
As pinky blush, to crimson red...
deepens, with evening pledge

Soon the moon and stars will fill
The sky with light, that spills
Over a sleeping hidden earth
Recycled strength, towards rebirth

Springtime

As morning sun crept up in the sky
The world and everything in it sighed
The beauty of the glowing warm golden rays
Promised the beginning of different days

The anticipation of a change was in the air
Giving hope that spring at last was here
The grass was turning a different green
Birds sang new songs on the wing

Winter’s scarred landscape beginning to change
Smoothed away gently with a warm spring rain
Sprouts of green were popping up everywhere
Bringing promise of color and thankful tears

All the colors of the rainbow were seen
Across the landscape a most colorful scene
Reflecting the promise God made a long time ago
Of the covenant He would and did on us bestow

NATURE'S COST.

In cotton-wool, morning muffled
Living plants-trees, left tussled
After days of wind, erratic rain
Sunshine hope, for weather tame

Towns felt power, fast water
Healing time, nothing falter
Rain ceased, allows sun to dry
Dry-out, water crept high

Mottled sky, stormy grey-shiny blue
White fluffy cloud, pass on cue
Ground soggy, mud will squelch
Warning... nature needs help.

Time-sun heals, storm passed
Wind died, breeze to dance
Bring hope, for short time lost
Many suffered, nature's cost

It'll return, know not when
Blamed,the actions of men
Life goes on, humans learn
Earth needs help, or watch it burn

The Question.....WHY

Thrashing rain, beats a roof
deafening sound, giving proof
Of weather's, controlling ways
nature's strength, doesn't play

Sends a warning, to beware
rushing water, has no care
Engulfs -collects as it runs
sinister outcome, no friendly fun

Puddles may attract, in youth
swirling floods, come with proof
Of rapid changes, nature brings
until a rainbow, when birds sing

Moisture hangs, in heavy air
Soggy ground, flushed bare
Of colour except, dull mud
acting magnetic, as feet trudge

Through the squelching, wet soil
making work, with heavy toil
Until the sun can warm and dry
some ask the question, of course its 'WHY.'

DAFFODILS

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

SURREAL NATURE....

Memory of snow, coats the ground
Silence heighten, without sound
Walking feet, explosive crunch
Crystal mirrors, ice-cream-lunch

Crisp icy air, breath turns to steam
Once trodden snow, turning cream
Nature's lies hidden, a scene surreal
Of familiar landscape, till sun peels

Scene as expected, on mountain break, or
short time presentation, as Christmas Cake
Until exposed reality, returns daily norm
Defined by shapes-textures, normality reborn

SHUT DOWN....

Mottled grey, tinged with black
Heralds a night, when light lacked
Crystal gleam, that comes with day
Fading slowly, as sun gives way

To shut-down, that twilight brings
Muffled bird sounds, no longer wing
Across a sky, where peace now reigns
As active life, now slowly drains

Sleep snubs the sound of life
Though in shrubs, a time for mice
Venture unseen, by the human eye
Till a stalking cat, now hidden lies

In wait to pounce, catch its prey
So much easier, as ends the day
Rest will revive, until the dawn
Repeats the process, day reborn

AT ONE WITH NATURE....

Half moon shape, edged gold
Aqua blue, a sky so bold
Returning tide, a picture makes
On ocean bay, fresh waves break

Peace engulfs, where seagulls fly
Blue the sea, reflects the sky
Summers morning, wait's there
Gift of nature, to compare

Wait footsteps, to break sand
Of coastal beauty, beach land
Stretching far, as eyes can see
One with nature, lifelong key

Wake slowly, to be adored
Solitude waits, following shore
Echo calls, from swooping birds
Nature's buzz, only heard....

Sycamore leafs
on sticks of Winters bones
shoals of seasons reefs
lighthouse and the stones

Spring is the song of butterfly's departing
while cloud dragons roost on the coals of the sun
