Point Of No Return

In the back of the class the boy sat
Trying to be as quiet as quiet can be
Too many times he’d been beaten up
For no reason that he could see

At lunch time he’d slink away
A safe refuge trying to find
Once again he’d be out of luck
The bullies would find him there

Such great sport to beat him up
While others watch and cheer
Even the teachers take their time
To stop what should not have started

Another day, more bruises added
Homeward shamefully slinking
One day, he swore, he’d stop it all
Or die in the attempt of trying

Through the corridors with gun in had
The body count is rising
Dead and dying scattered around
The wounded praying and crying

On he seeks, to exact revenge
No-one safe from vengeance
How sad it is that it came to this
Could have been easily prevented

Where Are You From?

Where are you from?
I am from Platteville, Wisconsin
I live in an apartment there
I used to live in Dickeyville, Wisconsin in a house
With my parents till I was 27
I lived in a foster home in Madison before age 3 and a half
I lived in a home of my natural parents before that
My grandparents came over in 1907 from Austria Hungary
They were German
So where are you from?
Did your relatives arive recently?
Did you move around the country you live in?
I have always lived in Wisconsin
There are some places if money wasn't an object I would like to live
Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Alaska, Ireland
Some places I would not like to live
Liberia, Somalia, Mexico, Jamaica, Haiti, Bangladesh, North Korea
So where are you from?
And where are you going?

About this poem:
Just pondering where people live and where they move to. We have certainly had our influx of new people in my small town, I can't say it is for the better.

There's an Art to Every War

When you know your enemy
Is not your closest friend
The battle is halfway over
Before it ever begins

It’s the weight of the evidence
That determines who will win

And

If either can prove the other a fraud
Or expose some blatant deceit
Proceed with extra caution
Or you might very well get beat

Unless both sides are equally capable
Then the victory goes to the able

However

Never become smug
In the heat of a war
Or pride can make you fall on your face
Even in the middle of your encore

When you don’t really know
What your opponent has in store
Prepare yourself for anything
And be ready to balance the score!

Incase plan A
Is replaced with plan B
You better make damn sure
You’ve also got a plan C

AND

PLAN D!!!

If the position that you’ve taken
Can have an impact on a multitude
Then you have to really consider
What’s in their best interest too

Fighting for a cause
Can cost you all your support
Be it money, love, friends
Even family might abort

But

If you believe…
It’s your mission on this earth…
Standing your ground comes naturally
And you’ve probably been this way since birth

Because

Nobody knows who God calls to walk where
When the straight road is narrowly long
And our spirits are prone to desire what’s fair
So we may have to struggle to right the wrong

Sooner or later…

We all have to face our ultimate fate
And I don’t want to be found lacking
So, I’m determined to try and keep the faith
Or God will be obliged to send me packing

Always remember
There’s an art to every war
And don’t get impatient
Or be afraid to admit a mistake

This world is full of trials lost and won

So keep your head up
Your eyes open wide
And be very mindful
Of who is on your side

It's Time to Fight For My Life!

The day after tomorrow
I’m going to discuss my rights,
With everything I am inside
It’s time to fight for my life.
This battle began 27 yrs. ago
And I’ve built a solid case,
But this doesn’t really assure a win
Given all the time and space.
Me and this insurance company
Have never seen eye to eye,
While they have means to bury me
All I can afford to do is try.
I’ll try to open up their minds
So I can take care of myself,
Hopefully they’ll see it my way
And finally allow me to get some help.
My story is not so very unusual
Except I’ve stood my ground forever,
Now I want a change of pace
And can only hope they don’t say, NEVER!
To those of you who believe in God
I sure could use your prayer,
For He might be the only One
Who can convince them to be fair.
I thank you all for your acts of kindness
Allowing my self expression on your site,
There are no words to adequately explain
How creativity helps me to feel alright.
The day after tomorrow
Can provoke a stress I wish didn’t exist,
But I have to face it all head on
If I ever want to get this finished.
Please cross your fingers too
For its prayers and luck I need,
And I will bring you all the good news
When this ends well, and I succeed.

The Power Of Money

Money is the common currency that we all use
to purchase goods, helping our lives to be more
fullfilling, but over the years money has become
a lot more to certain business people who tend
to make money a god, they worship over everything

else, their wealth has become paramount even to
the fact they will destroy people's lives, making it
impossible to survive in this world of turmoil.
They will start wars if there is a profit to be made
and governments always want money from taxpayers

around the world, creating taxes that have no real
meaning but an excuse to obtain money from all.
Money as we know it seems to have lost it's value
and will not buy very much these days, creating a
breakdown in our lifestyles and causing, depression

poverty and death through suicide, because the
poor people cannot accept life anymore. The world
seems hell bent on the need for greed, rather than a
fairer society, it is all controlled by the power of money.

I'm Ashamed

I'm ashamed
I'm ashamed of my weight
my teeth
my complexion
my income
my work place
my apartment building
Our treatment of other countries like Iraq and Afghanistan
Our bullies who never get the punishment they deserve
The way we treat gays and lesbians
The way we treat the elderly
The way we treat the students and college students in this country
The massive debt of college loans and national debt
The litterbugs
The people who yell
The people who don't visit their parents
People on cell phones in public
Potholes
Roundabouts on the street
Walmart and the treatment of their workers
President Obama and the rest since I have been born
The drug laws
Our prison system
Drones
Bottled water
Music after the 80's

About this poem:
There is a huge list of things, these are just a few that came to mind. I remember how heartbroken I was when I found out that Milli Vanilli didn't sing their own songs. I really believed in them.

I'm Not Giving You a Broom!

I waited for you
To make the first move
You were in charge
And did what you do

Looking in my glass house
You saw what you see
I was vulnerable
So you took advantage of me

In the first petition we faux wed
And you created my future course
But, I’ve finally had enough of your scam
Now it’s time for us to faux divorce

You were the one with the masterful plan
And what I really needed didn’t matter
All you wanted was to make your play
So you’d get whatever you were after

Simultaneously,
You put me in the driver’s seat
And handed over the keys
While you got in on the passenger's side
And feigned giving the control to me

Being unlicensed and trusting you
I then took hold of the wheel
Not knowing you were just using me
To get my signature on your lucrative deal

The one where I became an indentured servant
So others could decide my fate
But, eventually I exposed your treachery
And since then I’ve gotten nothing but hate

After once upon a time
Smiling sweetly in my face
So handsome, and oh so grand
YOU, the TOP GUN
The BIG MAN with a plan
Didn’t want to hang your head in disgrace

Lately
You’ve been getting a wee bit upset
And still doing whatever it is you still do
While I’ve made plans to quicken your step
By encouraging you to make your next move

Because you need votes and connections
From one to the other end of the State
Who will enjoy sitting down at your table
Eating your food from off of your plate
And
Together you’ll make merry and laugh
At the joke you made, oh yeah, that’s “me”
Determined to hang on until the end
And to never allow me to go free

As you bask in your hay days
And all the money you made
You’re happy with the respect you achieved
At my expense and others like me too
While we paid your debts
And still want answers from you

But, you underestimate us
And my willingness to strive
When you left me with nothing to lose
After you lied
And cheapened my pride

And now you’re getting angrier
The more doggedly I share
Me, the little mouse
Fat cats no longer scare

BUT,

DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT I CARE?

Why don’t you put your… oops,
OUR money
Where your mouth is
Let’s finally meet together in the courtroom
I’m sure your posse will be there
And the new Judge can decide
Preponderance
Evidentiary documents
And sworn testimony too

Then I’ll show my hand
Politely address you as “Sir”
And mop the floor up with you!!!

Oh, that’s right, I almost forgot
You prefer that we mediate without proof
In a private room where no one can see
So all your bad faith acts will stay buried in history

But I’m not giving you the broom that you need
So you can sweep me
And what you’ve done to everyone
Quietly
Under the rug

Especially since your new plan
Is to avoid a public scandal
In your campaign to be elected his Honor

The reigning JUDGE!!!

Plead for Relief

Fear
Led me
D
O
W
N
A long road
Filled with danger

Alone
I relied on the word
Of a
Stranger

Stupid is
What stupid does

Now I
“PLEAD”
So
I can just
Wake up

Nightmares
Fantasies
False hopes
Dreams

Our reality
Is seldom
What
We wish it to be

Punishment
They say
Should fit the crime

Even when innocent
In the wrong place
At the wrong time

Factory defects
Can be replaced
With new
Character flaws
Are sometimes
Overlooked
too

But
In this world
Where the strongest
Often thrive
Weakness
Can be exploited
So the status quo
Survives

Majority
vs.
Minority

All have stakes
In this game

On life
We bet all we have
Just to play

Knowing the risks
That it takes to win
If we lose at first
We ante up
And spin the wheel again

If fortune
Is meant to be ours
At last
Its security
Helps heal the wounds
Of the past

But
If at the end of the rainbow
There’s no gold in the pot
We do what we can
To make the best of our lot

We don’t depend
Only on

Wins
vs.
Loss

We pray for
“RELIEF”
And put our trust
In
GOD

For with Him
All things are possible
To achieve

And with faith
He’ll answer
If we believe

It may not be
What we want to hear

But His will
Will be done

And of this
We need not
Fear

Self

Every which way I turn they're walking next to me,
and its clearly obvious that your frown is from the burn, from the burn of the daily grind,
dig to find anything that satisfies the mind,
and in time....you'll give it up
it ain't mine...don't even know wassup

I'm a victimless crime stood on by divines,
Don't have the right frame of mind
lash me for all I've got
I'm kind,selfless and forgetful,
and often I get lost in the stupour of drunk and high,
cause this world you provide its what I need to get by!
