The Quotes Garden - XVI – Oasis

"The Quotes Garden"

[ XVI ]

Oasis

“Oh! My dreams will fly as the wind goes by,
While I sit to crave the muse of my grave,
- For the cricket’s song came near not so long,
Where my heart sought heaves among rusty leaves;
One by one, in turns, the notes fall when mourns,
As I ought to know where he brought this bow,
For my harp sunk deep, mirror carp to sleep; -
Then I saw my muse. I sat there, to weep.
On the scarp I seek how these roots let loose
The humble ants, - then bumble bees over the plants
In such a hover, in searching of my lover,
To dwell her silver eyes for the one that dies; -
I know. Into my oasis, step by step,
The beats vanish as it seems I perish,
- My veins loop within the rusty chains,
The pulse pushes along the sloop
It’s last tide: Tick, tack… tick… tack… tick…”

Hate your God

Its a murky evening here,everything is in ashes
The birds are silent,the water is dumb
The soil is barren,the crops are cropsless.

The sky is dark,the stars are wide a far
The pool is sinking,the thirsty town is drowning
The people are rustic,greedy and illiterate.

The people are rustic,greedy and illiterate
They don't understand poetry,nor the beauty
They don't know the tranquility.

God is dead-muttered Nietzshe
God is unreal-said Marx
God is imagery-noted Charvaka philosophy

But I urge throw off your God
Hate it
And live reasonably.

When Cupid gets Drunk

The cherubic boy, with arrow, will strike;
Let the grog flow, so the self-obsessed;
May each then reel - and perhaps find delight;
(Then forget the way in which they have transgressed);
With each drink, become as high as a kite;
It's all because a young lad, half-undressed;
Decided to join in the bright festivities;-
(Reflecting badly on cherub proclivities).

The cherubic imp's as invisible as air;
Flutt'ring on pinions, with bow, and with arrow;
When you've thought you've seen him, he isn't there;
Though you may hear his wings swish like a sparrow;
Close to your ear, or to ruffle your hair; -
(No need to read your fortune with tarot); -
Of Venus and Mars, he may have been born; -
But tonight, he's an imp - in modern form.

And his work is so tiring in this nightclub;
The heat, the noise, the crowd, and the music;
Cupid needs refreshment - and here's the rub;
He's not meant to drink, or he'll become sick;
Last time, at a dinner party, he fell into a bathtub;-
After drinking a cocktail, he fell like a brick;-
(Before this, he'd used the drink's swizzle stick;-
As an arrow, to shoot at the cat, the dumb prick!)*

Cupid's developed a taste for the booze;
(He thought it gave his flight extra verve);
Romantic liaisons were now his to choose;
(So long as he flies, and can keep his nerve);
And for this reason the grog he would use;
To keep his arrows true - for them not to swerve;
Though he doesn't fly too well when he's liquored;
And on this night, our Cupid
gets shickered!

For the first few drinks, the boy kept his eye;
Steadfastly on a man across the room;
Through angelic peepers, he did espy;
Subversive conduct going on all too soon;
The man with bad thoughts, well now he did try;
To spike a ladies drink - (the bloody goon);
Cupid shoots an arrow (before he is pissed);
A damn good shot! - It hits the man on the wrist!

This "gentleman", well, he lets out a howl;
The drug meant for her, is now on the floor;
And despite being as pissed as an owl;
He feels pain in his arm, like nothing before;
The girl now sees his hideous scowl;
She gathers her things, then bolts for the door;
Well that's quite nice - a crisis averted;
The boy saves a lady who would have been skirted.

Well, being a boy of very high virtue;
Cupid does not hang around for too long;
He's busy tonight, and there is much to do;
On gossamer wings, powered by angel's song;
He flits 'cross the room, (after stopping this snafu);
But stops on the way - to drink some more grog;
As well as cocktails, the imp likes champagne;
(And sadly for him, again, and again).

Though just as a sylph, and angel in flight;
(The baby-faced cherub is pretty far gone);
He's conscious enough, to now find delight;
In promoting the odd drunken liaison;
(If he knows in the morning, at the first light;
Lasting love will come from reckless passion);-
The cherubic rouge's old, despite his young years;
He sees all the girls, through veils of their tears.

The coquettish boy - (harbinger of doom);
Is out of his mind, and in no fit state;
To do much after this, now that the room;
Is spinning and giddy, and the hour late;
The debauchery, and moral vacuum;
Increases; (and all the more insensate;
Grows the cherubic mind, with each drink taken);-
Well, so I despair!;- poor Cupid's forsaken!

And so, our Cupid's really on a bender;
Now all he has left, is but ersatz love;
Then they all say: "the kid's a pretender";
(With flight no more graceful, like a dove);
He loses his gyros, and thus bends a fender;
When he falls like a stone, from his high perch above;
Now, it's an inverted aspect, for Cupid;-
He's stunned, and c*ck eye'd, and lying there stupid.

Bright Bright Bright Like a Star

What kind of world do you enjoy

A world you helped to build

Or a world you helped to destroy

What kind of remembrance is there

Marching past past past our glory

Parades through the streets each year

What else is there to life that brings joy

Only hope hope hope is our quarry

What next our economies seek to employ

When we need not run from every scare

Even when we tell our scariest story

Shining light light light upon our fears

New discoveries will make us all aware

Still in our orbs we live so round and safe

Glowing bright bright bright like a star

Death

At my door Death stood
With scythe in his hand
“Come,” he breathed,
“the other side awaits thee.”

Terrified I arose
Though I did not want
Yet follow I must

The Oblivious (you don't know who you are)!

You look so happy
and even a bit yappy
You don't seen no sin
or where you've been
Carry no Tales
For what that entails
Smile with your Mate
and eat your cake
Pay your Taxes
Watch the news and relaxes
Miss the fact that the world is reacting
To the damage it has infacting
Global warming comes with no warning
You won't see it or wake up mourning
The end is somewhere
Could be but you don't care
I'm Jealous
Oblivious

No Rhyme or reason

A thought for no rhyme or reason
Just maybe for this moment in the season

Lost in your eyes dreaming to hear your hungering sigh
With each gentle kiss
the taste of your tongue with a hiss

Your ever flowing stream of love
how it fits so snug like a glove
You cover me like a warm cozy blanket
It keeps me safe from the troubles of the world
Yet, I know I'm just lying to myself
in believing any word or thought
you convey for you have shown your ways just about every day.

Such beauty and charm to consider what's the harm?

Yet,one thing that keeps you near to my ear as I long to kiss your tears and trade them for love to dispel your fears

Your message is always clear and I heard it for many years
You are in very much pain and I know I drive you insane

Never have I seen such loyalty for such a fool like me I just don't understand what you see

Yet, is it only of your need until someone or something better comes along to make you crumble to your knees?

There is no rhyme or reason to the things you say or do and maybe that's why I am so crazy about you

In this world you are lucky to find one loyal friend to the bitter end

People and circumstances change like the wind and they love to play as long as the game is going their way

When you are down and out and lost in the fray you know who your friends are come that dark desolate day

Oh some may profess they were your friend but, only if you walk their way
In this arena many cry for someone to dance to their song
Even if they feel yours is wrong

Yet, one thing that leads to their dismay
They don't give the effort or time to what they believe it leads to a question who have they really decieved?

Ye shall know a tree by its fruit it bears hence, ye will know who really cares.

Royal Ball

Wearing robes of crimson, orange and gold
Short or tall and age young or old
Every autumn dancing at the royal ball
Swirling and swaying to the cool wind of fall

Moving in time to the musical breeze
Coppertone and bronze sentries guard with ease
Fairies – pixies and angels flitting about
Flying here and there among the royal crowd

The event only lasts a brief time each year
It happens when winter is drawing near
Forest and field animals running all around
Gathering up droppings from their royal crowns

Dancing so hard that their robes fly all around
Sending crimson, orange and gold to the ground
Thus with no coat their limbs are now bare
Standing there proudly not seeming to care

New robes will arrive all pure and white
Floating down from above what a beautiful sight
Sunlight showing sparkling diamond tears
Ending the Royal Ball for another year

Pearl Necklace

Slowly life leaves her
Not willingly
Fighting
For every breath

As she drops to the ground
The strand breaks
And the pearls cascade
Around her dead body

The Quotes Garden - XIV – To the bards

"The Quotes Garden"

[ XIV ]

To the bards

"Yee, bards! Draw out your quills with thirsty silver feathers
And fill this cup of loneliness! Let’s raise it to the heavens!
O, you, forever thriving hearts, like beggars peeled off leathers,
- In such a wilderness, your presence brings the lofty ravens!
How to not feel such lore, by noble paths of life, you mighty bards,
When all the earthly kings bow down their heraldry to taste
A glimpse of peace, from everlasting fragrance, in their yards,
As if their fame, or treasures, withers, for a silence’s waste!?..
Yee, bards! You seal my broken heart, with chants of golden harps,
To soothe this weeping, roaring beast who lurks into the darkness!
O, let me grieve along my dying muse, as nightingale enwraps
Such ravishing remembrance that I so ought to harness in my madness!
For nothing else, now matters – in such pursuit of happiness, to be
Alike a shadow in the mist, without a purpose – banished forever
From such a cruel word in which my fate resides; my love for thee,
Has split, within our shared grave; - and so I weep, I weep, I weep:
Yee, bards, take me along your path, for this silence I endeavour!.. "
