fjamesj9701: Its something a pastor once said, dont find someone you agree with the most but find someone you disagree with well. Than I noticed people who think they are "soul Mates" because they agree or think the same but when its time for disagreement paradise is lost. While I also know people who have different views and opinions but can have a disagreement on topic of issues and life is still peachy.

I think it depends on what the couple disagree on.
If it's a choice of movie or breakfast cereal, no biggie.
If it's whether or not its okay to partner swap or sleep with your work colleagues, it's doomed.
I don't think partners need to have all that much in common personality or interest wise, but I strongly believe that they need to agree morally on the basics of how people should and shouldn't treat others. When that doesn't match, they'll usually end up loathing each other - mainly because no matter what they do, they disappoint each other over and over.
