I think a massive percent of the country will vote no as a snub/2 fingers salute to the current govt.... I hope people at least read up on it all and inform themselves
the thick paddy isn't fit for self government especially when ff keep getting elected time and time again. I'll probably vote no as the proposals don't go far enough, paddy needs to be a thought a lesson in budgetary self restraint.
I am sure the Government will use every scare tactic they can to frighten the meek and mild Irish into a yes vote, just like they did with Lisbon 2, and there will be many who will fall for it, but this is one more nail in the coffin for sovereignty, one more step towards domination of the people of Europe by a centralised Brussels, jumping to the tune of Germany and France. The Government haven't the guts or guile to stick up to Europe, I wonder if the people of Ireland have?

I will keep my handcuffs for the bedroom only I voted no to Lisbon and when we got a smack on the hand and had to vote again....I still voted NO Am just an obstinate auld biddy really
Godsgift: OK. This is going to boil down to: Do we accept a federal Europe with all its conditions with the bail out etc? Yes or No? No BS!
I will be voting a big NO. The referendum is about accepting rules laid down by Germany and France on how to run our economy in the future. It is mainly about government spending. What Europe fails to see and have failed to see up until now is it wasn't government spending got us in this mess. Greece is the only country government spending can be blamed. All the rest of the countries in trouble are in that situation because of reckless banks! And this new fiscal treaty has no new rules for them. Not one law has changed or one new rule come in to make sure the banks don't do the same thing in a few years! All Europe is interested in is cutting government spending and leaving the banks alone!

No and no again to any successive 'reconstituted/reworded' of same referendum after this one . What part of that two letter word don't they understand from Lisbon etc
I just saw Eamon (frankfurt's way) Givememore on the telly, saying a yes vote was "vital," to our economy, jobs, recovery...etc, etc. I wonder where I heard that before, was it the Nice treaty maybe, or was it Maastricht or then again was it Lisbon, then again maybe I have heard so many times before at every damn vote, council, national and referendum I no longer believe a word of it!!!
jimbo79: i wouldn't mind him, they said the same the last time but yet supported it the second time
True. Can't believe a word from any of their mouths. The have lied so much that I can't see people listening to them. But according to a poll done by red c recently the yes vote is ahead by a few %.

i reckon by polling day it could be a 60 40 on the yes side
Would it be within reason to say that a "yes" vote will basically mean a decade, or possibly longer, of cuts in Government spending and increases in indirect taxation, ie Vat, property tax, car tax etc and the eventual raising of this corporate tax which the French seem to have a big issue with.
We should tell Europe to go to hell(or words to that effect) and throw our lot in with Canada......we'll probably all have emigrated there soon anyway
I will vote no because the last time the we vote no EU Edit the treaty for Ireland to get us to vote yes, which made the treaty better for Ireland.with any luck will mean they will have to give us cheaper bailout make us vote yes this time. But we vote no it will be a slap in the face for the EU Which i can,t wait to rain on there idea of perfect Europe

Europe couldnt care less what way we vote, they will move on regardless. Its not like other votes where they need every country to pass the Treaty.

I don't think people will vote No because they think Europe wants us to vote yes. I think people will vote no because they want to let our government know they are sick of austerity and spending cuts. Government spending did not get Ireland into this mess so this fiscal treaty is a joke. They should be looking at bringing in rules for banks and other financial organisations before dictating to us.

I agree that the people will use their vote to hit out at the Government. Although the Taoiseach wont admit it i would this that this is his worst nghtmare as they already have a fight on their hands with the household charge and septic tank charges as well.
