Not if it was by linguistic theories including personal ones, and a pretty face alone. That, I think, is impossible. Some affections could arise, that could potentially lead to the promised land, but not more than that.
I don't think you can truly love someone, until you know them. They can turn you on, by seeing their photo's. And knowing their likes, and dislikes can help the process. But true love comes with time. Infatuation yes. Love no! Joe
Yes you can fall in love with someone you talked online or phone conversation. Works or does not work that is another story. Something you can not control it's your feeling. I am talking about true feeling....Not desire etc!!!!

I agree with monistee. Great friendships can happen online, but Love requires real-life interaction.

yeah...........why not............people did it all the time during the war years when their only communication was by LETTER........which took a long time to deliver!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jillll: I would have to meet someone in person and know them for awhile before I could say that I was in love.
I agree Jill. Without seeing the person either in the flesh or on Webcam and hearing their voice, I am always skeptical that the "lady" might be a male or a young woman. Sure, one can get hooked and thats a shame but to say "LOVE" is false. ( a Queenslander )
Been there, done that, and when we finally did meet up in person the feelings that we had established during our online romance were reciprocated and validated. Only try this if you are totally intune to your intuition! Your gut instinct will prove right the majority of the time if you are sensitive to it's utterances.

And even when you spend time with them sometimes it's still difficult to let down the wall of suspicion and take a chance to trust..
