Not a good idea..I worked with my fiancee for 3 years and it almost killed us..I finally had to leave the job in order for us to work. Its too hard when the stress at work and the stress at home are the same.
JeanKimberley: know of some really good marriages arose between coworkers - depends on the people and the company -
I agree - it's not something to be taken frivilously - I think the couple must remain discreet and it won't work for everyone
but I have seen it handled well where I work by several couples
I think it becomes difficult when a co worker develops a crush on someone who does not reciprocate those feelings - it makes things a little tedious sometimes - but if the couple feels the same way and carries out a plan to keep things discreet at work I think it's OK
felixis99: congratulations! I can think of quite a few friends who met at work and have been together AND at their jobs for quite a long time!
We all worked for the same company for a long time, I was there 18 years, it was in the days when people stayed in jobs, or should I say jobs lasted lol, quite a few couples got together in the years I was there and other then one case where one of them was already married it never caused a problem.

So true and it is always a challenge if one is the work boss of the other - that is why some of the laws came into effect I suspect. Unwanted advances are not conductive to good work environments and people in power abusing their power can create a hostile work place.
Work is where we spend a majority of our time - it makes sense that we might find our mate there. Since I work for a local government we have rules and if two marry one has to move to another department.

Oh I dunno, it would be good to F**8 your boss senseless on the odd occasion
