I always tell them before the date not to use any perfume or strong smelling shampoo, I can't stand strong smells, it's better to me if he smells naturally sweaty.

I'd make new plans with someone else then.
probably end it early - if he had showered recently the omission would not be offensive - so if it's so bad that it is clearly noticeable to the point of being offensive? I'd cut out early....the message is that I was not important enough for him to shower & groom....

Also, people are usually on their best behavior on a first date and it goes downhill from there so I would be wondering what new aromas would be waiting for me should there be more dates. No thanks.

No I'm just wondering why people feel compelled to create polls as if they are writing a book or something. Polls are actually a cop out because it allows someone to vote without saying anything so their views on a subject remain secret.BTW, I wouldn't ever go out on a date without making sure I was sqeeky clean and well groomed, unlike some women I've dated who didn't even bathe.
If it was offensive, I would end the date quickly and move on
