In life away from the internet we meet people, make acquaintances, develop friendships as well as relationships with some going further onto partnerships or marriage.The only difference is that the internet is much larger and far less personal.

I am not really looking but I stated that in my profile. I moved to new place and I am looking only at the moment for friends. Even friends from broad to talk to sometimes.
I think the site is connecting singles so it is not only for dating.
People sometimes are looking for the perfect match and also they do not trust each other through dating site. That could the reasons?

I think men are so used to getting hurt that they cant get past it. I am completely honest in who I am yet men seem surprised that I am just that. It's like you read my profile and fill in the blanks with what you think I am lying about...That's crazy. Do you really want someone you can keep? It's been my experience you don't. I know I am. I send e-mail and get no response. Then when I finally do get a response, I have some great chats and more than one with women; one in particular, and then all of a sudden they disappear without a trace. I know they are still here because it shows when they are online. You know, we are all grown ups here. If you have found someone else or just don't want to talk to me, just say so. Be a grown up about. Ok, I'm off my soap box now. lol

More subscribers = more advertisers = more $'s.
There are easily 10 times more men than women on every 'dating' site ever made (except perhaps lesbian), so having a bunch of female profiles with VERY pretty pictures is good for business.
How real these profiles are is another matter altogether.

Men go online to look for a new Ferrari - there are many of them advertised - only to find there's nothing but broken Hyundais and dump trucks.

Hey, my last dump truck worked fine, the box for the dirt went up and down like it was supposed to, the engine ran fine but the rearend was broke so you could not go anywhere....
Just a thought for everybody: There are actual physical "get-togethers" for members, and some CS friends of mine have met up with, and actually gone on to have wonderful friendships and romances, so, yes, it can happen. It is clear to me that, in the final analysis, old fashioned is still better than anything else. We may "meet" people we like electronically, but getting to know them in person is much, much better. Watch this site for the get togethers I mentioned. In Europe, it is likely easier for many members because the countries are closer. I'd like to see a west coast (U.S.) one, say from the Pacific states to the Rockies, or so. I could probably make one of those. JMO
