My homeplace is where 3 countries meet, so wouldn't have a problem dating someone from another country there and did that in the past.
I personally wouldn't be interested in any long-distance relationship, which is what I presume Ali is talking about, but best of luck to everyone who does.

i have heard that "curry bashing" is the new sport favoured in oz where you beat an asian guy senseless till he is either dead or near -dead and then send him packing to his country !

Probably that British "upper lip" influence, most likely. "I say! It just isn't done!" We Americans are much more liberal, especially in the Northwest where I live.
