1600 were killed in Syria last week. The biggest tole since the civil war broke out.

With a dead locked UN, President Obama has no one to follow on a military decision on Syria. He has to lead. But clearly is not.
NATO is not going to step in, unless Turkey is invaded. So it comes back to sit in the Oval Office like a big balloon that keeps getting bigger.

How long can President Obama turn his head? Look the other way? Blink?
Close his eyes? Sleep in good conscience?

So what if the 1600 were not killed by WMDs. They are still dead. President Obama's line in the Syrian sand did not help them.

I thought we were head to a new moral high ground? You know were the world would respect America and Americans. Were if a dictator was brutally killing his people.....someone in the American government would know how to stop it.

Ah.....maybe that someone was Ambassador Stevens. For it was Stevens that stepped into the Libyan thing with both feet as a envoy. To provide military aid and technical assistance to the Libyan rebells...Shia rebells. But in Syria, they are Sunni rebells. Suddenly with Stevens dead, does not seem like anyone in the Administration has the ability to help the Sunni rebells.

Just maybe if one looks for a motive for Steven's murder....they will find it in the last paragraph of the post.

I agree, Ttom. How bad do things have to get before Obama pauses from the campaign trail and actually acts like our president? Even on the day after the attacks in Egypt and Libya, Obama was hobnobbing and collecting campaign cash.

Little wonder they see us as a cesspool of moral values.

WhatUWish4...wave Question: Why do you think all these African American ministers are telling their congregations not to go to the polls on election day?

It sounds like they don't want votes for Obama but I think it will have a reverse action.

Poor Joe Biden does it again. It's really not smart to mock a candidate when he is saying the exact same thing as your boss.
laugh

In an interview last week on ABC's "Good Morning America," Romney said he would define "middle-income" as between $200,000 to $250,000 a year and less.

"He's totally out of touch with the reality of what ordinary Americans deal with every day," Biden said about Romney. "He does not get it. He does not understand."

But for months, Obama and Democrats have defined middle income in the exact same way and have been urging Congress to extend the "middle-class" Bush-era tax cuts on the first $250,000 of people's income.

I almost feel sorry for Obama.

Why does this administration continue to insist the embassy attacks were spontaneous when Libya insists they weren't? Could it be fear that it would damage President Obama's foreign policy credentials?

"The Libyan president said over the weekend the attack was clearly pre-planned and could bear the markings of an Al Qaeda strike. An intelligence source in Libya also told Fox News on Monday there was no significant demonstration at the time. Still, the administration has contended the attack was "spontaneous," a product of protests already under way against an anti-Islam film.

So why the disconnect? The Obama administration claims the investigation is ongoing, and that it is privy to 'certain information' to back up its version of events. But the president has also been trying hard to make a foreign policy case to voters in the race against Mitt Romney. The closing night of the Democratic convention in Charlotte hammered those credentials -- the president's nomination speech even mentioned progress in Libya.

"It would be an inconvenient truth if it turned out Al Qaeda was behind this attack, because the administration has painted Libya as a victory for its foreign policy," said Jim Phillips, senior research fellow on Middle East issues at The Heritage Foundation.

It's unclear exactly why the administration's account of what happened on the ground in Benghazi last Tuesday night conflicts so sharply with what Libyan officials and a few U.S. lawmakers are saying"

Surely someone knows the truth here, and I'm betting it's those on the ground who were actual witnesses. If it turns out Lybia is right and Obama is lying to protect his re-eletion chances, it will just be another nail in his foreign relations coffin.

It looks like they are "revising" their story now...

"The latest clarification from the administration... Responding to the account, a U.S. official did not dispute that no major protest was taking place right before the strike. The U.S. official said a small group had gathered outside the consulate between 9 and 10 p.m. local time, but the investigation has yet to determine whether they were demonstrators or armed militants.

However, the official emphasized there had been a small demonstration, of about two dozen people, at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi earlier in the day. Asked how many hours separated the small demonstration from the attack later in the evening, the U.S. official could not say but added it was also under investigation."

I'm so tired of being embarrassed by our government. sigh

And even worse... a terrorist attack would mean Obama might have to stop campaigning long enough to come home and do his job. wow crying wow

Here is the solution to US debt.

Russia just did it for North Korea. It wrote off 90% of North Korea's

Opps......you say China would never do that! Rats! Back to the drawing board.

So what do Obama and Biden think of thier record and their performance?

A recent qoute from Joe Biden

"I am a good Vice President."

President Obama "views the elder statesman as a trusted adviser and friend who is heavily involved in the decision making and can counted on to carry out important assignments, exploiting his political skills to break thru the political grid lock."

This while they have been banrupting the middle class with inflations on the basics.

I believe that has been one of the primary complaints of the GOP. Medicare, Social Security, etc... must be reformed or they will be bankrupt within x amount of years. That is looking to the future and starting the process to fix the problems now.

Moreover, they have also stated over and over that these one-year bandaid fixes do nothing to spur employers to expand or hire. Nobody in their right mind would make a long-term commitment with short-term promises.

The Obama Strategy for Afghanistan is beginning to unravel. With a increase of insider attack spurs by the movie, the adminstration has decided to suspend joint Afghan/US & NATO mission. To end US & NATO training of the Afghan units.

With the withdrawal of the surge forces near complete, what remains
in Afghanistan is training and support units. Just like in Iraq.
They are there to support and train the Afghan units.

But this order virtually ends their mission for a indefinite period of time.

There deployment is supposedly till 2014. But if they cannot conduct the mission.....why leave them there? If they cannot work with the Afghan troops and security forces.....the mission is over.

So is Obama's war in Afghanistan. Truly, the US is no longer wanted in the country. Yet like in Vet Nam, the Obama administration wants to stay and slug it out. With less than a couple of 100 alQeada in the country and a large percentage of the Afghani population identifying with the Taliban.

His prime enemy has been depleted to less than a dangerous force. And his popular support has shrunk to very low levels, the Obama administration leaves US and NATO force at risk for little reason.

Obama attempts to do one of the most difficult thing of military missions according to one military analysis.....that is to withdraw while under pressure. A lengthy withdrawl while pressure increases on your shrinking force structure.

So Clint Eastwood gave him the answer......why not tomorrow?

Instead of looking withdrawl from Afghanistan as a lose. As many will. We should be thinking redeployment to Islam containing boundary because of the multiple protests around the globe. But the pride of the Obama administration will keep this from happening.

They have to stay the course in Afghanistan, because the President said it. Ordered it. And re-election's requires it.

watched a program on "time with Bill Maher" - funny and serious comments

one of his guests suggested that it doesn't matter over a four year term....it is the economic forecast over a longer term that is going to matter.

and he also suggested that we have this strange idea that "if we just vote the right character into office.... that things will change - that "our guy" will turn this country around"

.... neither a democrat or republican president is going to change our economy in four years - we must look at the economic policy over a long term

10 Days ago.....China, Russia and signapore leaders failed to meet with Hillary Clinton. The US media covered it up for 10 days while the events in the middle east occurred.

At the heart of it, the disapperance of the next President of China.
Xi Jinping was to meet with Hillary Clinton. But 10 minutes prior to the meeting cancelled.

The Chinese said it was not diplomatic slight and asked the US not to discuss it. With Clinton there to discuss China UN blocking voting on Syria. And then the same happened in Russia, as they cancelled the meeting with Clinton on the same topic.

Obama foreign policies are not just failing in the middle east but with the world's major countries. He cannot even get meetings with them to discuss critical international issues like Syria. At the same time, he is cold shouldering Netanyhu and Israel on Iran.
