Yes, I do. When I was 19 years old I fell 48 feet onto a roof (I fell from one building on to another) and smashed up my lower back. Every once in awhile it will flare up and will nearly cripple me, but with proper exercise and ergonomics those events are kept to a minimum.
When I was 17 the car I was a passenger was hit head on by another vehicle and the car went out of control in circles and when I came to it began going backwards into a field.Every so often if I bendor sit the wrong my lower back flares up.
I slipped a disc 15 years ago. (L5sc) This caused great pain as it interfered with the sciatic nerve. I still have problems with it on occasion as I said no way to arthroscopic surgery.

They say the pain matches a woman giving birth.
It is indeed hard to explain to someone who has nevere experienced "true" back pain just how truly painful it can be. I have a friend who has given birth AND suffers from lower back pain due to injury. She claims, that although different, they both HURT LIKE HELL!

I remember not being able to sit down to eat dinner for 6 months.
1Bell4truth: Is that you honey holding onto that pole for dear life, I knew it would come to that
Just joking I hope
Everyday, all day back pain. 50 years ago my boyfriend (husband to be) and I were in his boat. The boat hit a wave and it threw me into something on the deck. That's when my back pain started.

I have always heard that once you hurt your back it will stay with you for life. I am so sorry. All day everyday must be a lot for you to deal with. I do hope there are things you can do to help ease the pain. Ice, massages or something.

I hear it is the worse type of pain - does therapy help?
My mother is 87yo and has had debilitating back pain for decades, she came across a naturopath and with a diet change and physio she is now pain free and very active. The biggest change to her diet was the elimination of fruit and pork, I don't understand the effect of pork but I guess the high acidity of many fruits caused a build up of acid in her muscles causing the pain. Worth a try it just might suit some people

it makes a little sense - the diet - the only high acid fruits, tho, are citrus. the most important thing about diet change is that it will help take weight off - the lost pounds and regular, moderate exersize are the best things! I basically am in agreement as far as alternate drug free therapies, and think your mom must be a smart lady!!

I knew someone many years ago that said once she gave up all kinds of beef her back no longer was painful. Maybe there is something to it that your mom gave up pork and the person I knew gave up beef.
I have two herniated discs that have weakened my back. Plus, I'm a bit overweight and have a tummy. If I lost the tummy and strengthened my stomach muscles my back would feel better. But I'm dealing with other pain from having knee surgery so "pain" right now is my middle name...
