What to say.............???????????? In RL also you lose touch with pple. I have many friends I don´t communicate with for months, but our understanding is soooooooooo deep, it makes no difference, we can soon pick up the cords. Internet.........well.....ya gotta go by yer instincts!!!!!

Ok.......you explain to me how you cross that dividing line between acquaintance and friendship??????? Lots of people I have met were friends whilst they were in my life at a specific time, i.e. working life, but I have long lost touch with them.......does that make them just acquaintances???? Most people on the internet claim to be your instant friends and yet communication can last for a short period.....or be lengthy..........being lengthy doesn´t appear to make them any better friends.
I couldn´t possibly count the number of people who have crossed my path during my lifetime.
I look forward to understanding your OCEAN of difference between friendship and acquaintances!!!!!!!!!!!

No.........I don´t agree.........just cos you move on in life doesn´t mean they weren´t friends. Nobody was using anybody else...they just happened to be in your life at a certain time. One of my dearest friends I lost touch with for 8 years and we met again quite by chance, and now have a very close relationship. So there´s nothing to say that if I met another "acquaintance" from the past that a genuine friendship would not ensue.
There are very few "friends" from my past that I would not trust. I find most people trustworthy until they are faced with their own personal difficulties, then their circumstances dictate how they behave.
