So I'm currently taking a few dance classes myself (Salsa, Jazz, and a few workout/dance classes like Zumba and NIA) and was just curious what others were interested in. I'm also curious of the Male/Female ratio of dancers since I'm the only male in most of my current and past dance lessons.

That is all.
I love latin dance. I learned a little while I lived in Ecuador, and fell in love w/ it. The only problem is that there are only swing dances around here. Though I have heard that Swing and latin are like distant cousins.

had a free ballroom lesson and we touched on the swing (it was amazing to find it was similar to our western swing), fox trot, waltz and rumba....it was a blast and someday would like to pursue it further.....still taking country line dance lessons just not as often as I once did. You can be having such a crappy day and go dancing and wham! its gone.........good exercise, keeps your mind going learning the steps and people are fun to be with....
Yeah. I used to take a few belly dance lessons and it was great. but then i had to move to another place for work and i quit it. i'm planning to join some belly dance classes again this october when i go home.
Salsa and ballroom are two that I'd like to learn.
I grew up dancing ballet, tap, jazz and toe ballet. I've learned how to two-step, and some line dances...and I've done square dancing. The two above are the only two left that I would like to learn.
Zumba sounds like fun, btw. The gym I go to offers it, but I haven't taken a class yet because of the times they have it.
lubovmorkov: Though it doesnt appear in this list, I'd like to learn belly dance.
Ooops...yep, that's another one. My best friend has an awesome video that she showed me, and I want to get a copy of it too and start. The exercises to get your abdominals to move that way look really cool, and they're hard.

Yeah... funny story is I've learned do to a lot of belly dancing on accident, lol. See if you ever watch a lot of the Latin dances you'll notice hip movements for guys and gals. Well my teacher never explained that they were using their legs to do that, so I used my ab muscles instead and managed to develop some belly dancing moves. So when one of the other students in a later semester tried showing off her belly dancing moves I was like "Hey I can do that" and she looked at me like I was an idiot, but then I did the moves. It wasn't until I took salsa lessons (The moves I developed were in Zumba) that I discovered I'd been doing it wrong lol.
If you get a chance to then do Zumba. It depends on your teacher, but I've had three different ones (One girl focused on hip hop, one guy focused on salsa and hip movements, and the other girl focuses on salsa/merengue movements) and I've enjoyed them all. Improves your coordination a lot too which is nice since I used to trip over my size 14's a lot more in the past.
I know to dance: Wienna walz English walz Tango, Cha cha cha Rumba, Salsa, Samba Disco, Quick step etc. As you can see I am a rare kind of male and therefore welcome in all female companies. I suggest you: Keep on learning. This knowledge will bring you great benefits.
