jamesinspain: I spent hours looking in the dictionary!!!!!!
Getting really fed up of some idiots on here who have a very limited vocabulary and have nothing positive or interesting.
Let's see who posts on here, I'm sure the idiots in mind will jump on this!
hmmm... James, I am not sure you didn't just call me an idiot.
I suspect that you did not, in fact, look it up in the dictionary and that is it part of your vocabulary. I would give you a gold star, but there doesn't appear to be an emote for that.
"Useless comments" If you surf CS, you will find many comments falling in these categories. It may be useless to you and many, but it entertains some members. This is not the Scientific Journal, so people can utter anything. As in regard to offensive and hateful comments, CS has already Mods.
If members were the ultimate arbitrator, you would find CS completely empty. Well, this is my opinion. Take care James.
Yes, isn't it vitriolic enamel that they use in toilet manufacture?
Personally, I think anyone who seeks to limit free speech and tries to impose their opinion of whats 'OK to be said' and what 'must be censored out' should be seriously mocked!

Admin has given the OP of any thread the tools to ban anyone should they feel the need. In fact we have been told on a few occasions not to start a thread if we are not prepared to use the ban button when necessary. I do think there has been an improvement in the forums since this feature was introduced and admin will always ban a constant trouble maker anyway.

Abagail: I am always impressed when someone can use 'vitriolic' in a sentence!
I'd say he was English, they are the only ones who use vitriolic
But to answer the question almost anything goes except scamming and trolling, it does make for lively reading sometimes (we have a wide audience who never come on the posts) who hang on to every vitriolic comment

Actually Tom, I do believe that's true. There are more readers on here than participators because they simply choose not to comment based on the fact that their interaction may be deemed to be too grandiose because they have a more serious nature.
Tom, you must have a bit of English in you... YOU used the word 'vitriolic'in a sentence too!

Banning people for limited vocabulary, lacking positivity or for not being interesting is intellectual snobbery. While I very often do wish some people would not speak, I will fight for their right to do so.

/quote] Correct. Or the subject matter is not exactally what I for one would freely chose to participate in.
There's a line in Max Ehrman's poem 'Desiderata' it reads
'Speak your truth quietly and clearly AND LISTEN TO OTHERS, EVEN TO THE DULL AND THE IGNORANT, THEY TOO HAVE THEIR STORIES
There's also a saying 'You can't teach anything to a man who (believes he) knows everything!
Perhaps something difficult is happening in your life just now that has frayed your edges and is making you, perhaps uncharacteristically, intolerant of and uncharitable towards those you view as 'lesser mortals' today?
So, here I am jumping in on this with others ... I guess that makes ME an idiot in your eyes?
And the others?
If they agree they must be very smart people eh ?
:-) :-) :-)

I don't believe in Censorship... What's useless and stupid for some , might not be for others... I TRY to be as respectful as possible... even though , sometimes some comments gets on my nerves.
But still
Each one is entitled to their own oppinion, regardless what the rest of us might think.
Freedom of speech :)
Saludos :)
