What do you do? recieving IM . . . (23)
I gues depending on the day, I will answer/accept and IM. However there are days I just don't want to chat with someone and will ignore it. Is this evil?
Probably not. The last few IMs I delt with were with a few men who had english as a second language. Which really doesn't matter much, but they would constantly correct themselves and so any flow that the conversation may have had was disrupted.
Maybe I was just having a bad day. But it really irritated me.

tipaly81: I didn't have a problem with it until I had three pop up on my screen at once. I insulted two of the guys to get them to go away and then had an okay conversation w/ the third.
I don't mind the IMing, I just want to know who's messaging me before I open the damn thing. Then I can be on my best behavoir or just completely leave it alone .

Yes I know...been there done that...I got called all kinds of names for saying I was busy...and I just can't be bothered with other people's crap.....if someone e-mails me first I don't mind turning it on if it's someone I want to talk to....

go to emails. and therE is a tab for seeing who has i.M'D you- i ignore them- never had one from someone i know

I get IM's and accept them all. But it is annoying not being able to see who it is right away before accepting the IM. I had one woman IM me and she was so drunk...made my night having fun with her...

Well till now havnot received IM's on this site but even if some one does for sure will reply either yes or not but politely and in a decent way,personally i consider it to be rude not to reply or use harsh words,i believe in manners.

I have them shut off here, and thanks to Hugz telling me how to do it, I can't receive them on Yahoo anymore from strangers...so, basically, I can only receive them if I've already been in contact with someone and invite them to IM with me.

I only answer them if its somebody I know and if I want to IM somebody I will ask them first in a mail - its a good facility to have but I think it can be pretty intrusive and impersonal.........
