Kaybee50: I'm asking this from a personal perspective. If this happened in your very own village, would you want the guilty party to be caught by you yourself, and want the international community to stay out?
If couldn't do it alone,i would ask for assistance, any assistance local or international.
rebel2: The British parliament has just voted, and the vote went against British military action in Syria.
Instead of military action, they can invite the leaders of the warring factions, lock them in for a month or so, till they agree to a long term working peaceful formula for their country.

Better yet, don't allow them out of the locked room ever, until they come to a peaceful, permanent resolution.
After reading several articles that Obama is claiming that he hasn't quite made a decision about whether or not to strike Syria that he's already made a decision to do so.I don't know why I just think so.

He has to decide, whom to strike in Syria, the rebels or the regime????Is he going to strike the rebels, if they have used chemicals???? Some claim the rebels used them, not the regime.
One side or maybe both have resorted to chemical weapons, if this type of warfare were let go ahead...how long until in some war zone someone decides to use biological warfare?
Let people shoot and bomb each other to oblivion for all I care, but when they start to use weapons who's effectiveness depends on which way the wind is blowing.....it's time to intervene.

Here's a Washington Post news article I just found where Obama talks about the Syria regime and how rebels had striked the citizens by using chemicals.

MrRick77: Should Countries stay out of other Countries problems with war issues ?
If Your neighbour was bashing his wife and children would You stand by and not help her? I was a U.N. peacekeeper in a country torn apart by war, both civil and international, I like to think that we helped that country by ensuring that we pushed the bully away and gave the people a lasting shot at peace. Sometimes You just have to act when people who can't defend themselves are threatened, when dictatorships rule with an iron fist and innocent people suffer the consequences. "For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavour the protected will never know." Author unknown" So true.

Yes, we wouldnt stand by. Some may want to look the other way, but sadly chemicals bring into a whole new realm.
The vote may have not gone ahead yet, but you can be sure that the special forces etc are already there and acting. They always are. Our guys, the ozzies etc.Brits etc
If there's proximity then there's more reason to get involved. The quarrels of your neighbour can very well become your business - the operative word being neighbour.
I think that was the main sentiment I got from the U.K. Parliament's question and answer period that I watched yesterday broadcast on CNN. These chemical weapons carry "signature components", and they will know shortly where they were manufactured. I seriously doubt that these weapons are in the hand of rebels forces. And another vote may be forthcoming.
And to anyone who thinks Syria is not a new and hostile neighbor to the U.S. I would pose this question - Do you think the computer servers that Syrians loyal to Assad attacked this week are in in downtown Damascus?
So in the span of a very short time they likely used chemical weapons against their own innocent citizens and admitted to terroristic cyber attacks against another sovereign nation. Would you feel different if they "took down" the electrical grid instead of newspaper? I think RED LINES are being crossed on more fronts than we, the general public may be aware of.

If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.
