Its okay to be obnoxious and insulting as long as you don't use naughty words.
But, hey, Ocee's an American, so I don't suppose he's capable of thinking straight.
Thanks for dropping by. I once jokingly referred to my boss (he was Jewish) as a "Mensch". He took it in good stride, but we had a long conversation about its usage. It seems that sometimes it's OK, and sometimes it's not. It depends on the attitude of the person using the term, is what I gathered. He also stated that most Jewish men find the term somewhat endearing, but a minority find it sophomoric/maudlin. The same goes true for using the term "Leibschen" (sp?) as some German women may find it offensive, while others see it as no more or less than our "Love", or "Dear". By the way, I am all for using endearments, providing they aren't just over the top, and I believe that having a "problem" with it is rather goofy. JMO
john12196341: i say bloody yes especially if a person goes to a big city because chances are a person might get rob, assulted or killed. it takes more time for a cop to get to the scene. for those who are against carrying a firearm i say "nuts " to u. also a person can protect themselves against people. for example that former marine in washington state was killed by two african americans and that guy in georgia got beat up by 4 people. if they were carrying a conceled weapon they would be alive today.
Jayses it must be awful to live inside your head. You hate just about everything and anything thing that isnt exactly like you and you live in fear of assault constantly.

I'm not sure, but I think you might have missed my point, Ro.
Ocee might not be the most transparent communictor, but when he goes off on one I sit up and take notice.
The chances are he's 10 steps ahead of everyone else and I find its worth taking the time to wheedle away at what's going on inside his extraordinarily astute head.
In answer to your post above, I know "Mensch!" as an exclamation and its spelled "Liebchen", but I agree whether its insulting, or not depends upon the sentiments of the person using the term. Some people's integrity is different to the surface appearance of their words.
I guess it is a free country and you can decide for yourself if you are responsible enough to have a gun, and carry it with you. I personally don't like guns much I did a year in a military and I had enough of guns, and I learned what damage can a gun do. Now I am not sure how accurate this is, but here it is

you can bet they come for them sooner or later, anywhere! That's the purpose of Firearms-Registration,and the United Nations International Firearms Treaty!
kidatheart: You can, there's no doubt, but sometimes...there's just no better way to emphasise your point than being blatantly rude.
I'm all for it, even done it myself.
One of those threads that brings out the best..
I'm usually a bit subtle, but you know I've done it too..
"Sometimes people say things they immediately regret, but then later are glad they said it. Sometimes people never say anything for fear of being judged. Sometimes people talk all the time and we never hear a word they say. Sometimes people speak only when spoken to and are always heard by one. 90% of our communication is unspoken." ~Posted in a forum

On 2 April 2013, the General Assembly adopted the landmark Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), regulating the international trade in conventional arms, from small arms to battle tanks, combat aircraft and warships. The treaty will foster peace and security by putting a stop to destabilising arms flows to conflict regions. It will prevent human rights abusers and violators of the law of war from being supplied with arms. And it will help keep warlords, pirates, and gangs from acquiring these deadly tools.
I don`t see anything about confiscating legally purchased registered handguns or hunting rifles from civilians

they will all be neatly registered, and the UN never made any bones about their idea that Firearms do not belong into the Hands of Civilians, but only into the Hands of Soldiers and Police, and of course,Criminals!

and we all know what Registers are for! Germany,Russia and other Countries showed what they are for! To be used!
lalasierra: Should adults, without a criminal record, have the right to carry a concealed weapon?
Why or why not?
If they have a concealed weapon's permit then yes. If you carry it on your hip you get harassed something fierce. Plus having it show makes a lot of people uncomfortable.
We have so many lunatics out here even in our small town. It is a very unsafe world anymore. The criminals are armed, so we have to start protecting ourselves. But I am scared to death of guns and the noise they make.
