Oh so true, no funding for campaign is the major reason. Really, dozens of US citizens run for president once every-four-years, but the masses never hear about them.

One of things that the person doing the most important job in the country should be is totally not average or every day. It's bad enough that we have a government that serves the filth, but a government of the filth would be twice the trouble.

If such a thing were to happen than any generation of childish slobs could hijack the state apparatus and cannibalise the whole nation to serve its own selfish whims by stealing from the future. We call it the debt and "knowledge" economy.

Great question. Since "we the people" live the day to day crap, we know what is needed and not needed in this country. I think on most topics people can agree. The problem is, we do need someone with some education on how politics work. You have to be open minded too and realize you can't make everyone happy. But I can say that if I could do, we wouldn't have the bunch of idiots we have now in congress. It doesn't make a difference if you're a democrate or republican, right now we have idiots on both sides and we've yet had a good president. Though I do miss Clinton. At least he was entertaining...yay
