Politics and health...Obamacare... how are people making $8-12 per hour going to pay for insurance? If they don't they will pay fines I believe. My nieces and nephews are concerned. What will be left of spending money. It sounds like a decent plan so far as intentions, but can it work>
I can't see how this law can be set-in-stone for the masses. I believe readjustments to the law will be allowed to accommodate all classes and wage earners, but without a doubt, it's a new style of taxing America.
ObamaCare will not benefit anyone! The ONLY ones that should be getting taxpayer funded healthcare are those who serve or have served honorably in the US Military. If this is so great, let the politicians and the liberals have it first. We shouldn't be paying health care to those who aren't here LEGALLY! ALso why should I help pay for some jack wagon who could get a job, but doesn't. IF you cant take care of yourself, I shouldn't be FORCED to help you out.

They should have provided details on that already. I think many worried too long. I am a veteran and I wasn't even told if I NEEDED to get it with the VA clinic benefits I already have...because I don't have dental and vision. This lady claimed I don't. Anyhow, it would be easier if they spelled out the details online unstead of all these people going to the site to chat and ask questions one by one.

They cant explain the details because they dont know what they are.. Dont you remember Nancy Pelosi saying "We have to pass it to see whats in it" LOL
They best way I heard it put was, dont worry with Obummer care if you need a hip replaced, dont worry Obama care will buy you a cane
Scott1812: Basice health care like schooling is a right of every humanbeing.
Nope, but it can be made affordable, and for those who really can't afford it,there could be assistance! In a proper system there would be enough Funds available to do so!

We have had the 'Medicare' system in place here for many years, it is funded by taxpayers and means that everyone in this country can get medical attention when they need it, without worrying about cost.
Many GPs 'bulk-bill' which means that if one presents their Medicare card, they will not have to pay - the doctor claims his fee directly from the government.
Emergency centres at public hospitals are free, even for non-urgent cases, as is treatment and accommodation but the wait list for non-acute surgery is very long in most places.
Medicare does not cover dentistry or any non-essential medical services but it does work well particularly for those on low incomes or welfare payments as far as basic health care.

here we pay the Healthcare Provider, then get our Money back from our Insurance! Usually have our Money back from the Insurance even before the Doctor's or Hospital's Bill is due!

Government and Government Bureaucracy is out of the picture this way!
Yes but I guess this is a similar outcome; we must take out private health insurance to cover the other treatments mentioned in your link.
However the cost is prohibitive for that and many cannot afford it, hence the lengthy wait for non-urgent hospital treatment and poor dental health in many cases.

It will result in long waits to see a doctor, large increases in costs, demoralized doctors and nurses, angry patients, and rationing. The government will dictate which services will be paid for and which will not (death panels). Old sick people will become disposable. It is unclear whether those who might wish to pay for non-covered services with their own money, will be allowed to to so. Can you imagine that??? At least in other countries with socialized systems, one can go outside the system and pay for non-covered services. It is likely that we in the 'land of the free' will not be permitted to do so.
"Experience and the law of unintended consequences suggest the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" will neither protect patients nor make health services affordable. Actual caring will resemble that of the U.S. Postal Service. Services will be rationed and denied in arbitrary manner after long waiting, as in other countries with government health systems. Advocacy groups will institute something like a 'disease-of-the-month-club,' to apply political pressure to cover various conditions. In short, decisions which ought to be made by patients and physicians will instead be made by cold, distant bureaucracies. Switzerland has a market-based system which works. Care there is as good as in the US at 58% of the per capita cost. Such a system was not even considered here, because the goal is government control, not accessible, affordable or quality care."
Was posted on FB about a year ago by a Friend of mine,a Medical Doctor licensed to practice Medicine in the US and Switzerland!

So what do you do with the losers who cant pay? Take them out back and shoot them?
We have a different system out here, and I do feel for you people in the US and other countries that are less fortunate than we are in Australia, we do tend to criticise our health policies, but when it boils down we are a lot better off, though some will dispute that.

If I believe what I've read in the news the last couple days or so that the political figures want to do away with Obamacare which is really a tax anyway so the government won't be shut down.
