It is a fact that crime and violent crimes greatly diminish when the conceal and carry laws are in acted in a state (Washington Post, 112 committee of the 2011-2012 Congress ect..,)
Conrad73: you check it out! That's where most of the Mass-shootings,if not all take place! Criminals prefer Unarmed Victims! Then you gonna punish lawabiding Citizens for the action of the Criminal!
Well I don't really know what are you talking about, what Mass-shootings are you talking about. I just posted a link with some statistics, and then you come and start mumbling about the "gun free zone"and "mass-shootings"
By NBC News staff As lawmakers at the state and federal level weigh various measures to stem gun violence, here are some facts and figures on guns and crime, compiled by the NBC News research department. The big picture: Every year in the U.S., an average of more than 100,000 people are shot, according to The Brady Campaign To Prevent Gun Violence. Every day in the U.S., an average of 289 people are shot. Eighty-six of them die: 30 are murdered, 53 kill themselves, two die accidentally, and one is shot in a police intervention, the Brady Campaign reports. Between 2000 and 2010, a total of 335,609 people died from guns -- more than the population of St. Louis, Mo. (318,069), Pittsburgh (307,484), Cincinnati, Ohio (296,223), Newark, N.J. (277,540), and Orlando, Fla. (243,195) (sources: CDF, U.S. Census; CDC) One person is killed by a firearm every 17 minutes, 87 people are killed during an average day, and 609 are killed every week. (source: CDC)
Homicides by weapon: Handguns comprised 72.5 percent of the firearms used in murder and non-negligent manslaughter incidents in 2011; 4.1 percent were with shotguns; 3.8 percent were with rifles; 18.5 percent were with unspecified firearms. 13.3 percent of homicides were done with knives or other cutting instruments. 5.8 percent of homicides were from the use of hands, fists, feet, etc. (source: FBI) Guns and kids: 82 children under five years old died from firearms in 2010 compared with 58 law enforcement officers killed by firearms in the line of duty (sources: CDF, CDC, FBI) More kids ages 0-19 died from firearms every three days in 2010 than died in the 2012 Newtown, Conn., massacre (source:CDF, CDC) Nearly three times more kids (15,576) were injured by firearms in 2010 than the number of U.S. soldiers (5,247) wounded in action that year in the war in Afghanistan (source: CDF, CDC, Department of Defense) Half of all juveniles murdered in 2010 were killed with a firearm (source: Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention)

seems you are unwilling to Google Gunfree Zones! Would sort of throw a Monkeywrench into your works!
guns dont kill people.. the person holding the gun does.. most of the guns that killed someone are stolen. YES civilians should be able to have firearms...I believe in protecting myself if some a**hole trys to come in my house..
SoonerGal: well hundreds maybe an extreme, after all you do only have 2 hands
Hmm, this issue is influenced by each individual's undiscovered talents, maybe.
There is a diversity of gun calibers and gun types that can make it fun to learn the varying ballistics and reloading techniques to achieve the best accuracy possible, or just learning the safest self defense techniques using firearms (revolver, semi-auto, single, double action, with or without scopes/optics etc.)
Interesting enough, knowing a lot of the aforementioned and holding several conceal carry permits, I seldom conceal carry, but I still enjoy bowling with a .44 magnum or going to our local police range and practice going through their qualifications to carry and use a firearm.
Iuchi_Zien: If you are in a position that you have to defend yourself against such threats your country is a failed state. If your government and Police force are incapable. or unwilling. to provide the protection required then they have failed, and if you accept that as normality than you have got the Police and government you deserve. Perhaps you might want to consider that those same rights you fight for to bear arms are the same rights used by the criminals to access arms to assault you?
Me thinks the UK has already reached! Do you really, with a straight Face, want to tell me that in the UK the Police can protect you when you call them about an Intruder! You need to tell that to the Ferry-man,he might believe it!

Maybe you need to read that Second Amendment again, because your Argument about the Criminal doesn't hold Water!
MadBushpig: Another interesting controversial topic, it would be interesting to see your views on this.
instead of killer firearms there are better & effective alternative tools that will instantly neutralize the situation the idea is not to kill anyone but to avoid harm to self and other victims Point is the alternative tools/weapons are being blocked by the gun lobbyists as they want the gun industry to remain alive ....and that's the-only truth... but some crazy people may just wanna shoot and kill for fun.... then that is a separate issue !

Point and truth is, you can't prove any of this so called 'absolute truth' of yours.

I believe that the USA's NFA should be repealed allowing possession of "gangster weapons" such as machine guns and short barreled shotguns again. And most able people should also be allowed Open carry without a permit.
