I think a profile is not often taken too seriously. If preferences are stated they are ignored in most cases, and this is not such a bad thing because our preferences are simply that, and may be swayed, so I guess people take a chance armed with that knowledge.
...You raise an interesting question. When I put everything about my life in detail in a profile on other sites, I noticed a very interesting thing: when I posted pictures, very few women responded. But when I put a skimpy profile with no pictures, I was overwhelmed at the response. To point out the shallow view about pictures, I had a two-week conversation via site e-mail, in which she wanted to meet me badly. Since we live near each other, I sent her a picture, so that when we met she would know what I looked liked. Because she didn't respond, I e-mailed her. Her response: "Don't contact me again. Another woman wanted to meet me, but told me she was afraid that I was too hot for her, meaning(as she told me)that she wasn't pretty enough. Sent her a picture. She totally ignored me. Guess I wasn't hot enough. LOl. The moral of my story is that a picture doesn't always get a response. From experience on web sites, I have found that many pictures(after meeting the women) were doctored, old, and just plain fake. I talk to people on here via e-mail and feel them out that way. If I ever go to meet them, we will exchange pictures.

Thanks i do that sometimes.The trouble is if they do not understand your language and you send the mail that gives them hope.I have had this and have had to block people after numerous mails pretty much saying the same thing.No big deal really no i just wanted to know other peoples thoughts about this.Seems like many on here are getting the same type of mails..

The penentrating men here are either very opininionated and don´t bother about a woman´s ideas, or they are opportunists, who are just looking for anybody online.
My problem, if it is at all, as I usally don´t bother, is first-contacts that even don´t read your mail or read your mail and check your profile, but find no words to explain their denial.

Hi yes i agree some filtering can solve this problem..And i have to agree that some are just looking for anybody.Like you say the opportunists..Many will copy and paste and send the same email to many.Easy to spot.Some of the scammers operate like this too..

Coincidence i think.......they dont read profile prob just look at the picture...and they are also most likely scammers anyways..Personally i always look and read the profiles, cause how else can you know if you have things in common..??

Not an excuse by an means but I took a peak and noticed that when reading your profile the screen mainly shows what seems to be everything and then you come to the "BTW" and it suggests that might be all... You might want to put it in bold or maybe a little bit more conspicuous since it really does make a big difference to you. But probably a lot just don't pay attention or maybe you are so beautiful they can not resist. It is possible. If you could only see the mail I get! LOL......and even more! The mail I never get, LOL. good luck to you though and don't let that stop you from your search.

probably because the website promotes this, instead of trying to help you find your dream date. It's their way of connecting singles. If government knows what's best for you so can CS.

true,but i am willing,to shave stash off/not,lol.
What I've discovered is,..that when you compliment someone on their moustache she doesn't want to be your friend anymore. .
