Anyone with 2 brain cells knows the amount of weirdos out there and is security conscious enough to know that someone can find out their address with a phone number and wouldn't share such information.

If you dont have a phone on contract and have bought a SIM card and its pay as you go ,know ones going to be able to trace your address , not even the fone company that provided the fone card thru there retail shop .
They dont ask your name and address when you buy it , they just mumble the price and say stupid things when you leave the shop like "see you again "

I have a phone contract and I'm not so desperate to share my phone number on a public forum.
You can get intelligent network services which you can "throw away" like you can with a free email account.
In fact you can link the two together so you can listen to voice-mail or get a fax via email.
You could have a memorable number too.
This also gives your mobile/land-line two numbers.
You can get calls delivered anywhere in the world, routed by time of day, days of the week etc, routed elsewhere if your busy, and go on a "hunt" group.
You will never miss a call, or need to give out your personal number/s.
Ccincy: With all the fruit loops out there I don't think so.
Had a cup of coffee sitting between my legs in the car onetime, accidently dropped the cellphone in the coffee. It's a good idea to keep the phone away from the fruit loops also.

I really do appreciate the humor but I'm absolutely not in the best of moods right now. Sorry.
I've shared it with a few people that I have built a level of communication and interest with. When they ask for it and your email address in first message? nope! Delete!!
