Absolutely!! And I was there... Kitzbuhel, St. Johann, Worgl, Salzburg, Innsbruck & Reutte. And I've been living in the Rocky Mtns. of Colorado. Gotta have mountains to break up the skyline - Can't do Flat!! :-)
Wow! One knew the answer... though they will say that it is technically a Volcano and not a mountain - but I say it's all one and the same... they all rose from uplift from magmatic sources, not just folds and faults. Cheers!!

Yes, it is, as you can tell in my pictures. The Rockies are on average taller than the Alps. These are of granite here, where the Alps are more composed of limestone. I'd love to go back to where you are though. Didn't really get to see the Grossglockner, and missed Doufourspitze in Switzerland.

Was in the middle of them last year in Banff
So very beautiful , lucky you, you get to live in them .
