passion8: The average female dress size is now size 16 to 18. You will find this information widely available. Just because there are so many women in the size 6 - 10 group, does not mean they are average. Up until ten years or so ago, the average woman was size 12 -14 but over the years the body shape has changed.....
Girls we see in magazines are not average in size..........
are those stats for britain too i know that many of us who have issues are working on it but you have a to of middle aged women and its harder to keep the pounds off. i know there is more push towards healthier eating. one of the other issues is that many of us are not realizing our portion sizes are way too huge
idk what the big deal is... i'd rather have a woman that is confident and considers herself average and is a healthy weight, than some 90lbs model that worries about calories when she chews gum. if a female is happy with herself and weight doesn't affect health... more power to her!

What annoys me most of all, or used to, is the amount of men on this site who expect a Perfect 10, when they themselves are somewhat less than perfect..
I mean, come on guys, get with the (Fitness) Program..

Dawn7z: well you have a right to be attracted to whoever you want its your right larry i was doing well before the accident of losing and running around the restaurant not so great lately with not working but its cool i am getting out and walking as much as i can. we do need to lose weight but its nit everything either as people get active they tend to lose it. i have lost 40 from a couple years ago and have to get about thirty off. for a lot of women especially my age we dont like our bodies and it compounds the problem
The number size doesn't mean anything. Every woman is shaped and built differently. When I used to be nothing but skin and bones...I mean rap your hand around my ribs, I never went under a size 8-10. I am a big boned person and I will never fit into a 3, 4, 5, and don't want to. That would be way too small for me.
Every woman carries her weight differently. I wouldn't be going by the number size because that means nothing. I like myself better now than when I was a size 8. I'm a lot healthier looking. Everybody used to tell me how I was too small.

I agree with you Woodzchick. Weight and dress size can vary extremely between women. Ten women weighing 150 lbs will vary in the shape and size they are. Ten women wearing a size 12 dress will vary widely in how they look. I believe if you are proportional and curvy without rolls of blubber rippling as you walk you are beautiful. I am very muscular and muscles weigh more so I don't worry about weight or size. I just try to be the healthiest me that I can be. I was much smaller when I was younger and everyone told me constantly I was too thin. Seems I had a thyroid problem and now that is fixed I am a good size. Now I get compliments almost daily and if I start talking about losing weight I get "don't you dare, you look great". Those comments seem to be sincere. I don't think there really is an average weight or size just a healthy one.
Totally agree...every woman is different. Also, have you noticed that the sizes run differently at the places you buy your clothes at. I can go to Cato's and they run real large. They are 2 sizes off from everybody else. Maybe that's why people pay so much for their jeans. They say it is a size 4 when it's a 6. It makes the person feel good, so they buy it.
I'll tell ya something else...I'm not going to starve myself for nobody. I don't overeat, but if I want a Ribeye....I'm going to eat it and enjoy it and yum..yum...yum.

Yes, I have noticed the sizes are different. I usually take 2 or 3 of an item into the dressing room and I never know which one will fit.
I'm with you on the food, I love filet mignon, luckily it's a lean cut, and I will eat that and potatoes and not have a moments remorse. I dip my shrimp in whole butter and lemon and bake and eat cookies. Life is short, I'm not eating tasteless cardboard. I just eat smaller portions and drink tons of water and I seem to hold at a healthy weight.

I am Muscular as well, i dont have room for fat , i am Lean, and yes Muscle is heavier than fat,,

Women dont want lied to either
Yes, the problem is two fold, deceit and perception. One may perceive someone to be too heavy when to another they are just the right size but deceit is another thing entirely and yes, men and women both can be deceitful online.
There was something to be said about the old way of meeting in bars. There you got the visual but knew nothing about personality of life beliefs. Here you can get to know someone but don't always know if their appearance will appeal to you.

i haven't had cooking oil or grease in the house for 20 years. i learned if you take a frozen steak or chop out of the freezer to salt my cast iron skillet get set it on high sear both sides and then turn down to medium pour water in and let simmer till done to your liking. the longer in the more tender and the searing seals in the flavor and nutrition. ps just got my blood work back and cloresterial count 101 been like that for years

I agree with those on here that say size doesn't matter. It's what's inside that counts. As for the term "average", it's relative to bone construction, heredity, nationality and time of life IMO. What's average for an 18 year old is not necessarily average for a 50 year old. People seem to forget that.

You so right. Didn't even think about the age difference. My body has definitely grown since I was 18 years old. Same thing happens with a man. That's why they call us MAN and WOMAN....we grew up!!
