I am 45, weight 140 pounds on a bad day, wear between a 6 and an 8, and am fairly muscular. However, things do legitimately change for both men and women after a certain age, regardless whether a person wears the same size or not.
Ultimately though, it is not the weight that actually counts, or the clothes size, it is the way you feel at that weight, and whether or not you feel healthy at that weight.
Average doesn't really mean anything at all.

MaximusD: Most of the people calling themselves Average are way bigger than what should pass for Average.

Sorry,

i really enjoy a lot of you on here. you are very caring loving people no matter how much you weigh. i am tired. as we get older and the physical fades it is what sines from the inside to the out that counts our hearts not our pants sizehug

virgiomonkey: ........... Hah,sorry to disappoint you,but I don't have that 'I am the Victim mentally' ....I leave that one to you Western European Woman.... Oh Miss 'Duderess'....Did you mention in your previous post on 'cultures do change and values change' anything related to skinny or anorexic models of today......No....But so sorry I should learn to be a 'mind reader'..Correct...??? ....
Sure there might be some cultures whom you call, value woman who are grossly fat....but there are other cultures who value Men and Woman who are a reasonable weight and in good body shape.
Funny,an observation I have observed at parties and functions that I have attended, never seen a Western European 'Fat' Woman go for another 'Fat' obese Guy,they seem go for the muscular and well tone guy....Hmmmmmmmmmmm....Gee...I wonder why that is....????????
'You need to move Dude'.....Sorry, not into 'the need to move' for been attracted to Fat Woman....I have my tastes, simple as that....

J.D

I'm curious JD. Does being an American qualify a woman to be in the Western European club? I didn't think America was anywhere near Europe. Just wondering if American women fit your criteria and if so or if not what countries do you include in your dislike?

confused dunno confused

They could be twins! However,it is common knowledge that Americans in particular have a national obesity problem now.So when an American says average, assume they mean by American standards.laugh

seekndestroy: .... and part of it could also be that people dont want to hurt your feelings by telling you what they really think

most people have no quarrels complementing someone who is thin, but when it comes to someone who isnt, they are very afraid to say "you are fat" or "you definitely need to lose some weight".... instead they'll say you are "curvy" or a "BBW" or "average" .... and hope that they can change the subject quickly.....

if you dont believe me, try asking more specific questions and see how flustered they get....

things like: "define curvy", "what do you think about these rolls here?", "does this flabby stuff gross you out", "feel my tummy, do you think i could lose a few pounds here", "would you like to see me in a bikini" "or a midrift shirt", how about tight clothing?

i'll guarantee you that they'll lie through their teeth, blush and insist on changing the subject !!!

Or purhaps...now this may be crazy!....but just maybe, i AM actually attractive without being a size 5!! Holy crap, what a concept!! LOL

Just for the record..I certainly never said that wouldn't be true, because big can be beautiful. And curvy is a REAL concept not just a word.Since you're thousands of miles away from me,you can bet I'm just not simply trying to be polite.wink

MrAngel: It had to be said. Even in Canada,it's getting worse.I'm just waiting to see the differences when I return after years abroad. But when you live there, you almost get used to it,don't you? Buddy,if you were here, you would be astonished at the differences. But things are changing for some children here and they are getting fatter.Guess why...American fast food chains.

The problem is the corn syrup in western food. Corn is cheap to produce as are all of its derivatives. The trade-off is price versus weight gain.

Children in China and Korea aren't getting fatter because of American fast food chains. They get fatter because their parents stuff them, especially first born boys. They also get fatter because they spend more time in front of the computer, playstation or the TV.

With western products on the market, they just get fatter, faster.

To some degree, yes that is true, but the new diet has certainly had an effect as well.
There was an experiment in the U.S. a number of years back.It involved a set of identical twins who were born in Mexico. One was raised in Mexico and the other in the U.S.

They were reunited at about the age of 20,if I recall. The difference was striking. The boy raised in the U.S.was larger and taller compared to his Mexican brother due exclusively to diet.

average is just a word. in the end, it doesn't really matter what size we are to others, as long as we are comfortable with our weight, and health.
every person has their own likes and dislikes regarding someone else's body image, but that doesn't mean that people who are larger than your expectations should be put down for it. we are all free to choose what we like, however, we are not free to hurt others because of it.

hahha not this chick..

I love my weight..i have never been a big girl and dont want to be its unhealthy..

Meaning diabetis..cloestral and so on..

People who are big are knocking smaller people..its not right..

I will never be big..and if i think i am starting i will do my best to stop it..

As eric said alot in the US are bigger women..

but he also said some are big here..

my family is small..it might have to do with that..

but if i think i am gaining a little then i will start walking more and more..

Its unhealthy to gain alot of weight..

but its up to the individual..

I dont knock big people..so stop knocking us small people too.

This is not to you that i am replying to..well this part anyway...

Do you know what, sir? Im getting sick and tired of your constant insulting patronising and generally negative comments, which is not being nasty, simply stating the truth from scrolling through your posts..very mad

The info I posted was acquired from a bone fida site, the info was directly from the World Health Organisation, and I considered it INTERESTING AND HOPEFULLY INFORMATIVE TO ALL. Which is why I took the time to read, copy and post it on here.

If you have nothing constructive to add to the discussion, why bother at alldunno very mad

Im simply NOT in the mood for people like you today..very mad
