I feel like this, if a man wants a woman who is thin, average, big, or whatever adjective you choose then its up to him. People have a right to want what they want. And I am by no means posting this with the intent to offend anyone, and I do not speak for everyone, just myself. It is my unbridled opinion.
I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and what one person may call average, another person may call it large, etc. I do not think of myself as "obese", but somebody else might. So if a man were to say that they were average in their profile, but I think they are more on the husky side, and I am not attracted to themthen I move on to the next profile. I can't be bothered with what someones opinion of themselves may be no matter how much I might disagree.I really can't spend my time concerned with what someone else may think of me, either especially if it is negative.
I wear a US size 18. I absolutely love my body, and I am honest in my profile and say that I am full figured. If I have a big belly, and some fat rolls, so what? I love my meats and my western fatty foods. I also enjoy healthier foods. Such as fresh fruits and veggies on a daily basis. At my place of work, I keep busy and don't really have time to "sit around". I like my round butt, and my thunder thighs. And the men I have dated and had healthy relationships with have no complaints whatsoever. I have yet to see someone go into a serious relationship out of "politeness". As far as I'm concerned a man can take me or leave me, cuz I cretainly don't want a man who doesn't want me as is.

What is your problem??
well where is your problem?? I just said that the BMI would be nonsense and i gave you an example why it would be.I just wonder why you feel offended by me???? And it is a fact that a lot of americans are obese, so where is your problem?????
irie1: Or purhaps...now this may be crazy!....but just maybe, i AM actually attractive without being a size 5!! Holy crap, what a concept!! LOL
im certain you are to someone... and at the same time unattractive to others.... just like im sure there is someone out there who thinks i actually may be somewhat attractive....
size DOES have to do with attraction... some like em thin others like em thick....
to each his/her own...
but my point was that people nowadays are afraid to say what they really think when it comes to fat people and thus they are very unlikely to say it, though they think it.... so i would advise against believing you are something based on what OTHERS may tell you.... believe it because YOU think so... who cares what others think anyways???
bottom line is simple, if your body fat is above 10% or so (and i no im not quoting exact medical standards.. just a guesstimate) you are overweight.... 20% you are fat... and 30% or so you are obese... there is no arguing that....
now those numbers do NOT measure attractiveness,..... they measure body fat..... if you are more than 20% or so, then you are fat..... not "average"... but fat !!!!
now you claim to be an attractive woman... that's fine, then you are an attractive fat woman... so be it .... but if you call yourself "average" or "a few extra pounds" then i'd say you are a liar which in my book makes you a LOT less attractive !!!

Why is BMI nonsense?? Its just a formula to measure fat levels in your body; seems quite sensible to me..
And where was the example you speak of??
Yep, alot of Americans ARE obese; I have stated this myself. Its no secret.
And my "problem" is your constant negative posts, thats all..
First you need to define "average".... "a standard or level which is considered to be typical or usual."
And then take a look around you... the average person weighs more than the so called desirable weight for their height. Obesity has reached epic proportions in America and Britain... so in this day and age "average" is usually somewhat over weight.

personally i like my women thin... the thinner the better.... unless she's so thin that you can actually see ALL her bones or that you cant see her if she turns sideways!!!
unfortunately, those who are thin and attractive (to me) are generally not attracted TO me cos im not "ripped"... fact is attractive women know they can be picky and only go for those that are the creme of the crop.... shallow anyone?????
but, as opposed to those who take the "bail out" and claim the whole: "i am what i am and cant do anything about it so im just happy to be as i am"...... i know im not where i want to be and so im spending 5 or more days a week working out to get to where i want to be,.... its been hard and its a constant battle but, soon i'll be to the point where i can offer the same as i expect her to offer in terms of physical condition and looks

Fascinating, you say that attractive women who only want the buff guy are shallow yet you're spending all this time buffing up to meet the expectations of said shallow women. You allways get my funnybone going SND.

actually im getting in shape cos i've always been in shape and somewhere around 5 to 8% body fat.... but 12 years of whinning and nagging eventually took its toll and i stopped working out and playing ball.....
.... of course the added benefit is that em shallow womens will be on the menu again !!!!!
this time i wont let one of em sink her fangs into me tho..... "hit it and quit it" its my new motto !!!!!
Yes, so I pride myself on still being size 14..........
The UK changed their dress sizes some years back. Before that UK and American dress sizes were the same.
I would love to drop a few sizes, but would be the same person within, whatever my size. I always lose loads of weight when in a healthy, loving relationship. A shame I haven't had one for a while, but 2 sizes here or there should not make a difference. I want to be loved for the person I am first, and not what my body looks like. We are all flawed in some way............

So according to what you say,if everyone becomes obese, then that will become the new standard for average..is that right? Well,it seems you've just solved the problem..what genius!
MaximusD: Most of the people calling themselves Average are way bigger than what should pass for Average.
Sorry,
I will agree. I've seen men who are definitely sporting an extra large beer belly, or who weigh at least 300 lbs, saying that they're "average" body type.
I know average is bigger now than it used to be, at least here in the US, but not by that much!

You are only fooling yourself, while you are single, is when you should be Getting yourself in shape, as i have seen women say this same thing , and meet someone, and eat the House down, Going From 14 to the next size is Elastic strech Material that shrinks between the Rolls
and Heavy women just have to say whatever, to allow them to feel that it is OK to Be Fat, so it is an EXCUSE TO NOT loose weight! Instead of Getting on a Diet, and Loosing those unwanted Lbs/ sizes, they use more energy than Dieting To DEFENDING Their Right to be Fat.....
Can Big People Say, hay, I need to Go on a Diet, and I WILL LOOSE 100 lbs, and get to a Size 8 again....
No It is easier for them to say 14-16 is average, Sad
Michael211_2000: In my case my give-a-darn got busted here last month... it doesn't matter what pic I use, I've not met a soul from here in 2 years and I have no reason to think I ever will so what the heck.
Now if we could just convince the gals to all go shirtless as well... this would be a much funner site!
- Michael ("American by birth, Texan by the Grace of God!")
Shirtless or shirt on you are so freaking full of yourself - that's why you can't find anyone. Or perhaps its other areas you are trying to compensate for.
All I can say is, I've been here since May and I'm dating.

So you saying that some woman's NAGGING and WHINNING made you put on weight? And here I was thinking she'd strapped you down to the couch and forced you to eat Big Whoppers and broke all your baseball bats.
Grandepensees: Ten pages for a thread in which most people would agree that the outside appearance is superfluous?
It seems to me that a lot of people are concerned about the way they look, otherwise this thread wouldn't have gotten 10 pages...
Or am I wrong, once again?
Maybe many people are in denial!
There are always two sides to a coin, but it is either a chocolate coin of one made of metal or one made of plastic.......... I would only recommend fat people chewing on the metal and plastic ones and leave the chocolate ones to relatively skinny people like me!
There are looks and there are personalities.
Most of us have a bit of both....... some very good looking people feel very insecure and seek perfection and some very ordinary people are full of confidence and glow with an inner happiness.
We all have problems - how we look and how other people perceive us is only a problem if we allow it to be!
