Stockholm76: How does one know that they are attracted to someone by first glance?
That is something only you can answer for yourself. It's a personal experience that others experience as well. To put it in a nutshell, it's a feeling you get and I don't have the words to justify this sense of "love at first site" appropriately.
Stockholm76: Then if there is attraction what do you do, pursue the person and then ask for a date or just allow the moment to be a moment in time and then move on to the next thing on your agenda? Any testimonies positive would be great!
I'll go and talk to her to get a better sense---then just go with the natural flow from there. If I don't exploit this opportunity, I'll regret it. Life is being and being is believing. Who wants to live with a pile of regrets and should have's?
I'll say this in my experience of these "love at first sight" connections. They are awesome and can lead to great things. Conversely, they can also lead to bad things. We live and learn. Nothing falls into our laps and happiness does not magically happen, especially in a relationship. You have to work for it, manage it wisely, and maintain it with efficient and harmonic effort...unconditional love! To assume that "love at first sight" connections means that the relationship will be in any way easier in the long run and that only good things will magically fall into place, then you are kidding yourself. Everything is possible at any given moment.

Yes, I believe in it. I am too romantic, to do it not..

I do NOT have a clue,..... but one needs a Dream to follow in life it makes it much easier. so I will keep this one.,
I will know within a few second of seeing you whether or not it will be love somewhere into the future. But, I can not love anyone on first sight. I can lust for you; I can like you; and, surely I would like to be with you, but not love.

Attraction at "first glance" is lust and love at first sight is naivete, or just plain stupidity... You can never know someone to the point of knowing whether Love is really there or not, that's why people hate liars and have difficulties trusting again and again and again and... Yet, where do all those liars come from? "Everyone" I've ever talked to, online or in real life, has told me that they don't like liars and cheaters but I've never, in 30 years, met someone who said: "I'm one of those liars and cheaters." Just to say that the ones pointing the fingers could be the very ones who are guilty of it.

It happened to me once and it was mutual. We lasted six years and I've never experienced a relationship of that quality or depth since.

Yes! When one points their finger, there are three fingers facing back.

I AGREE..I THINK LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT REALLY IS LUST. A VERY STRONG PHYSICAL ATRACTION. HOW CAN YOU LOVE SOMEONE THAT YOU DONT EVEN KNOW. NO SUCH THING, ATLEAST IT NEVER HAPPENED TO ME...
RLML48: Usually, it is attraction first, so that's called lust?, and then, if we happen to be compatible, then love, but it takes time to find the latter out. So, my answer is no, I don't believe in love at first sight. Just because I like a guy when I first see him, it doesn't mean I'm in love with him, at least, not on the first few minutes of our encounter.
IN MY EPERIENCE, I AM 42, I CAN SAY I WAS TRULY IN LOVE ONLY ONCE IN MY LIFE. DEEP IN LOVE, I HAVE LOVED BUT NEVER LIKE THAT. I DONT KNOW IF MAYBE I DONT OPEN UP TO LOVE IN FEAR OF LOSING IT AGAIN..

It seems that a lot of people confuse fantasy with real life and poetry with real feelings.

jvaski: I think sparks refer to excitement of new romance and connection. If they're there , the fire be sure to happen. ( can't believe I just said that , I'm getting ill inside )
I cannot beleive you said that either but I suppose love - a connection is why we are all here
